Why does resizing tumblr icons (just turning them from bigger squares to 100x100) look like uncanny valley weirdness when down to dw size?

Is there a way to shrink them without getting this unsettling feeling that the aspect ratio somehow got lost even though it also didn't? Or is this a problem only I'm noticing and I'm just losing my vision?

a game based on a really dark part from Animorphs: The Ellimist Chronicles. the part where a moon-spanning abomination has a garden of undersea corpses and wants to play games with the one living person it's snared. But a little lighter overall because there'd be multiple characters in this position, who can talk to each other, and an end is possible that isn't absorbing the minds of the dead and Father itself and leaving the moon as a demigod. (though, that would be rad)

last year around this time I was struggling with harassmen, had tags all the time and did them but no confidence while doing so, and basically was just struggling all around.

this year im in with new and old friends and much more comfortable and playing again and finding my confidence again. I get to be silly with my writing and really enjoy myself and I'm really happy I didn't give up and quit last year.

damn, i know firsthand that the struggle of playing taciturn characters is real, but if you chronically give neither dialogue, nor physical cues in your tags, you can't get pissy OOCly that someone else's character dropped the conversation after being repeatedly stonewalled. there's only so much pushing and prodding some characters can do before the aggressive pursuit becomes OOC for them too.

i know it's ic for some characters to be terse and respond with really short responses without any visual reaction, but at the very least, use your action brackets to make it clear that's how the character just is instead of inadvertently giving the impression that you don't give a shit about the thread and are just obligation tagging
