My characters are obscure to the point where I can only get CR by tagging out, but I'm so busy. (Not in any games for the same reason; I live on Bakerstreet.) I barely have time to look at memes, let alone persevere through the bog of top levels and disinterest and dropped threads. It's a shame, because I really enjoy this hobby! I just can't justify prioritising it.

It's been a year and I'm still shaky and wooden when I write my very favorite blorbo. I'm confident with my other characters and have received a lot of praise for them...but the Blorbo I want to write the most isn't working for me.

I don't know how to improve. It makes me sad when I try tagging because I want this to work.

I didn't ask for the reassurance about how you're excited for our tags, really, you're just busy, but it's a little irritating to have been told that and then see you starting new threads and tagging other people instead of replying on our threads
please just skip the platitudes next time. it's okay if you're enjoying other threads more than ours rn -

i really wanna get back into rping again after taking a hiatus, but my desire to write or do anything has pretty much been nonexistent lately (i've been feeling very 'blah' in general too).

i wish i knew how to drum up excitement again...

Someone referenced an in-game thing in a way that was a little incorrect, but not so bad that it would be worth correcting them unless I wanted to be obnoxiously pedantic. It's still bugging me as I think of a reply to the tag.

TMW you have a fun idea for a thread, an opportunity to tag someone new, then you notice they have no info on their journal and only ONE icon and ALL that interest and enthusiasm deflates like a balloon ...

But that's probably just a me issue anyway.

when do you give up and accept a game isn’t for you? I’ve been in one for three months and I’m just not feeling it. it’s way too slow paced for me and my character just isn’t a good fit.

getting tags would probably make me feel a little better but im just...too sad, about too many things, to muster up any strength for tagbacks or tagouts rn

I got a SUPER cute username (tinytanuki) that's perfect for my character, BUT, something happened while I was still setting up the account and my e-mail was never verified or set, apparently. Now, if I try to sign in, I just get a very broken error that appears... in the top left corner of the page in a white margin outside of DW's overall layout. I get the same message whether I use the right or wrong password. I worry I'lll never get that lovely username back because the password cannot be reset when no e-mail was confirmed and I can't sign in!
[I got the username tinytanuki (original species' name!) *before* my e-mail was confirmed and I can't sign in! ;O;

(My accounts were alao hacked into again because my stalkers have literally no life and got Upset about me talking about what I went through. Randomly deleting my tweets mid-chain to be noticed, etc.)

Already changed a bunch of passwords, e-mail included, and ended sessions before anyone suggests doing that. I know the drill.

I'm cursed with ships in games

In the last two longterm games I've been in, I've gotten really, really great ships! Ships that I love a lot! And initially the other writer is active and we get a lot done, and it's great, and then after some amount of time the other writer gets really inactive and starts replying about once a month. It's happened twice in a row now, and it's so frustrating, because with both writers we plot a bunch, we have all these cool ideas for our ships, and yet we never get to do them because of their inactivity

I know the other writers are just busy, it's nothing personal and they have every right to put their real lives first. So this is mostly just a whine. It just sucks

had really good chemistry with this player. they ask for my socials so we could work on a proper psl and keep in touch... and then after a while it's only me initiating smalltalk and all our threads seem to be getting dropped.

Is it worth trying to breathe life into this PSL? Idk if this makes sense but the other player is not the best at adding interest to the scene. No hints. I have to fish for it. When I miss I get a tag with no substance and have to fish again.

i want to play cute threads with a cheerful/grumpy pair, playing the cheerful one (preferably a lady) teasing the grumpy one to loosen up.

problem is, 90% of my roster is 90% guys, and i tend to play the grumpy ones (even the few ladies i play are more on the grumpy side).

RP Burnout + FOMO = The worst possible combination in the world.

Every time I try to get through my inbox or tagout for the game I'm in, my motivation to write rapidly dries up cause I keep feeling like my writing's getting worse, getting more stiff and wooden, cause I'm not smart or good enough to write on par with everyone else in my game. Couple with the past months of stress IRL, I know I should take a break to try and recuperate before trying to write more. But at the same time, I don't want to miss out on the events in the game, and I feel terrible making people wait for a response. My brain's just one big mess trying to figure out what to do.

More of a joy than a woe, but it's nice to play someone that I've picked up all on my own. The joy and enthusiasm I feel when I come back to my inbox is so real, I love it. I haven't felt it in a while. It makes me all buzzy, and I think about tags and threads all throughout the day.

I'm sticking this in woes because I'm realizing that I've been picking up characters to make other people happy, and those muses really aren't as fun. Like if my friend is complaining that no one plays the other half of their ship, I'll create a journal to play that other person. Or if I see someone on BS and/or EMP looking for a particular character and I feel bad to see that they haven't found them. I'll make a journal and play them.

To be clear, I still enjoy the characters playing for my friends. If I totally hated the character, I probably wouldn't be able to write them. In these cases, it's more like a character that I already liked in media, but didn't like enough to consider writing, but now that someone else wants them, I'll do more research into them and try writing them.

I'm just noticing a difference in how I feel when I'm picking up a muse because I genuinely enjoy them and enjoy playing them, and when I'm picking up a muse because I want to make someone else happy.
