i have a character who i think would work so well with the basic premise of this game, but reading the mechanics was... overwhelming lol. is it really as complicated in practice to play here as it looks?

No. The mod gives everybody a ton to work with but you don't have to use all of it or any of it. You can very much engage with as much of what's there or as little as you want.

seems overwhelming for little payout. do people really get good sustainable cr from this game?

I found it a bit complicated, personally.

The fact that the mod offers so much to do can make it feel a bit disjointed. Your character can do whatever, go wherever, and act however they want basically without consequences, so it feels a bit like a big sandbox with prompts rather than a game with a story. Too much to do, lot of missions, rewards, sin points, sinscription tiers, sponsors, all of which is optional, but it also added to the feeling of overwhelm to me.

Still, I recommend at least TDMing since the community is pretty friendly and the mod is super helpful! You might be able to find a playstyle within that works for you! <3

the game feels like more of a platform than a game in the strict sense of a plot, guiding lines, and outcomes. and that's not a criticism. there's absolutely nothing wrong with just having a place to play specific things with a steady group of people. it's an interesting take, and it's not like it's taking up space it shouldn't. think of it less like a standard plotty game and more like ru paul's drag race or something like that, and you might find yourself getting more out of it.

I agree that there’s nothing wrong with a game that gives you free rein! Yeah, it’s definitely a neat take on how games can look.

I’ve since dropped since it wasn’t quite what I was in the market for, but I might return at some point in the future now that know more about the open structure and what to expect.

Hello, current player here! I know for a lot of people the set up seems overwhelming but there is so much that can be done with the mechanics of the game. The mod is extremely accommodating and there are even parts of the game that can be tailored to your specific character.

I did not RP for a long time and this is my first game after years and I am having the best time, the players have been so nice and my character has developed some pretty solid CR.

So once you get past the intro stuff and get into the meat of the game it's not complicated at all and there's always plenty to play around with. Hope this helps, anon!

iiiiit's really overwhelming. i joined for a smut game based on the premise and there is just so much going on all the time, all of it disconnected and not a lot of it related to the streaming concept. the players and mod are really friendly, though.

also, there are a couple things that aren't as complicated as they seem, but they're over explained with a novel's worth of text. like the points gacha thing could be condensed to a paragraph, but it's a full page. with everything explained with 1k words instead of 100, it also makes it really easy to get confused how things work even if at their cores they're not complex.
