Is this game welcoming and equally open to new players? Does everyone get back what they put into it? It looks good and I crave a mission game, but the last rpa post made me look more closely at the taken list and I see what other anon meant about the mean girls that killed Deer Country and then made an epilogue to revolve around themselves all being there sans one. That makes me a little wary of being an extra in the Paul Atreides show again except this time it isn't Paul.

I read that as a legit question from a potential player who was trying to avoid a bad past experience. Good faith is sometimes your friend, now you have potentially scared someone off.

I'm sorry, you're right that it looks that way. It was meant in good faith as the other anon said but the level of detail was way too wanky. I truly wished to know if it was worth considering a return to games with this one when a minority on the taken list has me wary. Been out of rp too long to realize it came off as wankfishing and I won't do it again.

When I read your post, I felt like I'd accidentally stumbled onto Wankgate. Bringing up years old beef without serious deets just generally comes across as wanky these days. If you want to app and there's people you have issues with in the game, just hit them with a DNI and let the mods know you did. If the DNI gets flagrantly ignored, then that's something people will be really concerned about. But I really haven't seen anyone cause any issues in the game since I joined.

I saw someone also went on a long rant using similar phrasing that didn't get much traction on the last post. It just feels a little strange that there is suddenly a fixation on this after all this time. I've been in the game for quite awhile and everyone is welcoming and there is no wank that I've seen. It rarely even gets mentioned here. Maybe I was off base but it all just seemed sus to me.

OP of this comment here: it was the last comment that made me ask, since that poster made it sound like they love the game but are apprehensive about this one thing so that's why i asked. The phrasing probably stuck in my head from the other comment. Thanks for being cool (not sarcasm), I don't want to start anything.

No offense anon, but that isn't what the post says. The writer of that post does not say they are in the game, only that it "looks solid". They also admit they haven't interacted with anyone involved in years and have no idea what they're like now, which doesn't make sense if they were actually in the game. It comes across very much as grudge wank. I don't want to start anything again but even still taking you at your word, I do think you jumped the gun here.

The only one who feels wanky here is aggro anon replying to op. My sincere advice is to just drop this, you're making the game look bad with these replies.

the anons above are right, nonny. the situation is kinda fishy but its pointless to fixate on this when we're all anon and someone's intent can never be more than speculation. the best thing to do for the game is to just not engage. if ppl genuinely have bad intent and keep trying to insist there is a fire but there's never any smoke everyone will eventually stop taking it seriously.

seriously, stop. you 'don't want to start anything,' but you keep doing it. you were defensive the first time, now you're defensive even when you apologize. if you don't actually want to engage with op's questions about the game, just walk away.

the first two replies whatever someone is protective of the game and wary of wankbait, even if they did go a little hard on OP who had other also legit questions. this one though actually does read like aggro anon is one of the mean girls in question trying to shove that history under a rug. which it wouldn't have looked like until this defensive-er comment.

I've tried twice with two different muses from two vastly different fandoms. I tagged out on the tdm and made a tl of my own. I never apped with either of them because if it's not the right fandoms you can't get into the cliques.

it's honestly big enough and with a high enough of a variety of characters that you'll fit in somewhere without trouble, as long as you're decently active. my one recommendation would be to check out past events though, since the game's missions are quite low stakes and can steer a bit SoL. if that's not your vibe and you're craving the mission games of old, this might be a bigger problem for you, i think. it's overall very bring-your-own-fun, which will suit you if you like to be a bit more independent and are here more for character dynamics, but maybe not if you're looking for a more regimented linear plot.

I don't play from a popular canon and I have no idea who the players are you're talking about are, but I've had very good luck here despite not having known any of the players prior to joining. Everyone's been very welcoming and I've been having a lovely time.

I also had some trouble getting started due to IRL and was slow at first. But people were really chill about it and were still open to plotting. Never felt like I "missed my shot" so to speak.
