Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

I miss Dreamwidth RP and I'd like to start seriously RPing here again. It's been years. Any advice on how to reintegrate back into RP? Are there any active games going on that are interesting?

many games are invite-only now, but in lots you can get an invite by playing on the TDM (which is often a requirement for applying anyway instead of the old "link a sample" thing).

best way to get back into it imo is to poke around bakerstreet. nb also that many people look for info/preferences posts in journals so they know what you're not into before they tag you, so it may be helpful to peek at journals and see what people are putting in there. dreamcodes has tons of tag-separated journal-prettifying stuff.

addendum onto anon above me; it's nice to have a pretty journal but it's absolutely not required. just a simple info page would be enough for most people!

otherwise the basics are: character name, character canon, character age and general permissions (backtagging y/n and potential content warnings are the big, standout ones)

enablemeplz is still a thing too - praise be to emp mod - and the December one is coming up (second saturday of every month, barring any emergencies). You can take a look through November's post and see if there's anything there that catches your eye. if you just want to jump into RP, then tagging out around bakerstreet is still an option

adding to anon above me: yes, bakerstreet may look slow on scrolling through the first several posts; this is because people tend to post many memes in a day, so saturation's high and comment counts are gonna be low in the first 24 hours for most niche memes. but yes, there is still actually plenty of rp to be had there, since being proactive and tagging out to crosscanon remains a sure way to get threads going. lots of people will backtag awhile, so while the first page of bakerstreet may looks thin, going back more pages you'll find plenty of posts with threads still ongoing. the non-niche ol reliables like tfln, random scenario, rain, and insomnia memes also tend to be consistent for engagement
