HEOREM is a panfandom, invite-only, space exploration and adventure game, inspired by No Man's Sky, Honkai Star Rail, A Psalm for the Wild-Built, and post-rock groups like 65daysofstatic, A Swarm Of The Sun, and God Is An Astronaut. Wayfarers are pulled from different universes to serve on the Theorem of the Astral Rose, a base ship charged with exploring distant alien planets, all in search of the mysterious Song.

Look Outside is an rpg where a cosmic entity has arrived and everything out of doors, or even indoors but with an open window, gets warped into some kind of monster. Audrey got combined with the vending machine she was using and now is a drinks machine with an interior that's all roiling teeth, tentacles, and eyes, who has to talk by dispensing empty cans with writing on them. She can shift her exterior, extending several legs and making the buttons more obviously eyes and the slot more obviously a toothy maw, but she thinks that form is gross and scary and doesn't want people to see it.

There is not a whole lot to Audrey but if you ask her about herself she gives you a can reading "I used to be a thirty two year old bike courier with a nicotine problem and too many pets. Now I am a box with teeth. [picture of someone with her arms in the air] I am moving up in the world." I keep thinking about playing her in like memes and situations where on top of being absurd genuinely that is an unsettling thing to look at/be, rather than rating very low on the disturbing scale considering the rest of the game.

I've been thinking a lot about how players view games these days, and what they find stale vs what most agree a game should have. Based on that, I had an idea on how to possibly shake things up and wanted some input on whether this would even work, or whether it'd crash and burn.

Short summary: A combination of a meme comm (like Baker Street) and a typical game.

Basically, there would be a setting. Specific locations, housing for characters and lore to explain why they're there/why strange things are happening to them. Probably it's a jamjar where everyone is stuck, but that's not set in stone yet. If players would be more interested in a setting that characters can leave whenever they want, that'd be worth considering. Either way, players get a small nexus of various landscapes where their characters can settle in, and where interactions take place. It would make it easier to build an ongoing story between characters.

Instead of the typical event logs, either mods or players (undecided, maybe both?) post Baker Street-style memes. A rain meme, an insomnia meme, a kink meme, a 'characters turn into monsters' meme, a 'characters get sick' meme... Something that takes away the wall of text events and instead gives simple prompts, so players can decide for themselves what to do with it within that established setting. The game can have its own equivalent of Denny's too, and a simple device (or outright smartphones) for texting memes. If something extreme happens like body horror or magical sickness, or 'compelled to fuck', it won't be too weird because there's lore baked into the setting for why it happens, and a rule of 'it doesn't affect every character there' so any meme/event can be easily skipped.

AU, CRAU, OC, malleable protag- all fine. No character age minimum. There would probably be an application system in place for two reasons. First, I get the feeling most players won't like it if there's 20 different Bucky Barneses walking around the same established setting, including the Buckys themselves. A few other players might love that, but majority rules, you know? (Correct me if I'm wrong and the majority nowadays wants those 20 Buckys.) Second, if there is no app system and Taken roster, this would basically be a Dressing Room and we know how well those do these days.

Would there be AC? unsure. Power nerfing, humanization, things like that only happen when the player wants them to. Though no gamebreaking powers, obviously. A regain system to put specific items, weapons, buildings or pets in the setting could be worth discussing, but since many of us despise counting comments to cash in, maybe a meme participation count could be the currency? You thread in 20 different memes, your character can bring in their father's special 5 foot tall magical sword. Or their sister's coffee shop, and then immediately set a coffee shop meme in there.

The idea is that mods create the setting, possibly run an app/AC cycle, but don't dictate the events, limits or lore too much from that point on. Players can choose what 'events' their character is impacted by because not a single meme would have mandatory participation. Ideally there'd be less work for the mods because they don't have too many reins to hold or events to brainstorm, and less work for players because there's less details regarding limits/rules/event details to read up on. Though there is a very strong chance mods would have to vet memes before they go up.

What do you think? Is that anything? Or is it a recipe for drama? All of the above is malleable, it's just me spitballing. (I'm not saying I would be the mod running this, by the way. I don't really know. If someone else wants to try it, they have my blessing, but I would like to play in the meme game if it's worth existing)

hi! i'm looking for crosscanon and canon for Hornet!

Hornet is a little princess warrior bug and i would especially love any fantasy or warrior/knight/soldier types to chat and adventure with. other non-humans are also very welcome. i'd also love to develop some strong friendships, especially with women. other characters that have complicated relationships with their parents, siblings, kingdoms, etc. would be tasty. that being said, i am not overly picky so if you're interested, reach out!

as she is a bug, i have a few options for making CR with her easier. she can either be kept at a small size but her speech can be fully understood, or she can be scaled to a humanoid size. either one is fine by me! i know some are turned off by rping with non-humans and i totally get that, but if you're on the fence, please know hornet isn't really different in any significant way from writing a human character except stature.

i currently have a Lace who i've been shipping with as well as threads with Ghost (first game protag) and the Hollow knight, but i'm still absolutely down for threading with others who play those chars if you're looking for it! the more the merrier.

i'm willing to play with pretty much any canon and both PSLs and memes are cool. shoot me a pm!

I am a fan of this doomed pairing and would love to do things, especially canon divergences. There are a couple of ideas floating around my head, including some:

-future AU in which they reconnect together through music
-going back to their past highschool/early adulthood days before it all went to hell.
-even scenes or short things of when things are terrible and undefined between them before their final breakup.
-a combination of all of these!

Open to brainstorming other things, you can pm here. We can do some test texting before plunging into anything deep. I'm also open to cross-canon characters that might be a good match for him for something long-term. I just have a lot of feels about Ugetsu.

Please don't make fun of me, nonnies, but I'm doing a smut thread for THE first time in my 20+ years in journal RP and I could do with a few tips. I don't feel very confident in what I'm writing but I would like to at least give my writing partner something decent to work with. Any tips at all would be helpful but specifically about one can avoid pillow princess-ing would be great.

The best way to avoid the crown of a pillow princess is just to make sure your character is physically and emotionally active. Make sure you include both in every reply, and that it's something that can be reacted to. Also be mind of pacing, signpost towards finishes in advance.

You can always ask your partner for their preferences, no one worth playing with will be annoyed.

I think I'm going to have to add something to my TFLN top level, a preference like "If it would not make sense for my character to text yours a prompt, please don't reply to it." I then have to twist things to fit and it makes the start of threads so awkward.
