Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post personal information. This includes but is not limited to full names, addresses, phone numbers and so on.

genuine q, what device are you using that doesn't make it a pain in the ass? or are you using markdown to code your tags? idk, either way it's more work than straight prose for negative benefit.

my mobile keyboard app (not the stock one) has a text replacement function. i type in a shortcut and it automatically replaces that shortcut with the html for smalltext and brackets

yeah my phone's built-in keyboard has a shortcut function so I just use that.

da and it takes me literally two seconds to write the html to make text smaller. and it's typing, which is something I'm already doing anyway when I reply to a tag because this is a writing hobby. I don't understand how typing a few extra words and symbols makes it 'a pain in the ass'.

when you write prose, you have to type out the "" for spoken words, so is that also a hassle to you, or...?

they're talking about doing tags on the phone, where finding <> and = can be annoying. literally two people above you explain how they use shortcuts for html. "" is just with the numbers on the phone keyboard.

i don't mind brackets but this is a weird argument because the html for brackets contains several times the amount of characters than the one or two for quotation marks. like yes of course it's more time consuming and more of a potential pain in the ass. it can break and screw up your whole tag and you might not notice until later, plus it doesn't display the same on everyone's devices, plus if you're on mobile even if you have a shortcut available (not guaranteed on everyone's phones) if you hit the wrong button and misformat your tag it's very tedious to fix...

i do a lot of phone tags on my commute between work and i skip tags that need formatting because i know if i accidentally put a space or a break between something, then i'm zooming in and out and fat fingering and making it worse while i'm already trying to block out the reality of being on crowded public transport, it just takes forever
