This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Genuine question, sorry if it sounds accusatory, are you putting in the energy you hope to receive?

The threads I boomerang are with people who are making time for me regularly (daily, weekly, whatever it's consistent), who collaborated with me on ideas we were both really excited for and helped write us past the boring bits, who chat about the thread OOC when we don't have time to tag it, and who share the burden of writing starters/scene transitions/worldbuild/NPCs.

Meanwhile I definitely have old friends where I am enthusiastic about, ie, their new characters or offer to make a journal for the ship they're seeking and get absolutely no energy or initiative back, or am expected to slog through boring small talk between floating heads because they have no capacity to develop UST or assume necessary CR dynamics. Of course I'm going to spend my time with the people whose attitude and writing are bringing me joy?

Maybe this isn't you, because on the other hand I know some people accomplish feeling really popular and wanted by using scarcity tactics and hot-cold bullshit - if you end up in a clique of people like this and keep getting picked last for the little leagues despite always being enthusiastically invited to play, you can sometimes start to feel like you're the common denominator when the truth is you are just being strung along to play audience and cheerleader to them, the Main Characters of RP.

Basically, put your energy where it's reciprocated - but do try and put in some energy.
