Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

idk about them but i'll give you an example when this happened to me

i opted out of a character because an important facet of their characterization deals with something that triggered me badly at the moment. like i was in therapy for it badly

this person went on to blast me in a private plurk about how 'this has never happened before, i can't believe people don't want to rp with my blorbo,' how sounded like a puritan, how i couldn't differentiate fiction from reality, blah blah blah

this person made kink a significant part of their online persona. kink memes, self-identifying as 'problematic', being knee-deep in the anti vs. proship wars, commissioning art of this kink, always talking about how they were a kinkster rl, etc

we shared multiple friends so eventually this private plurk made its way back to me

i dni'd that person and all their characters. wasn't about to justify myself to this person

thank you for actually explaining what is being talked about here, anon. sorry you had to put up with that shit. i know some people are really bad in this hobby with content warnings for example, and i wish it was easier to ask them to be better about it.

i have some stuff that will cause me to opt out with some characters and am always afraid this will be the response i get. but hearing this is a nice reminder that i don't want to be anywhere near people who react to stuff like this anyway. might be awkward for shared cr, but if i were that third party i'd be seeing that and getting away, too.
