I play from a canon in a non-English medium.

A while back, I was reading fic in the canon's language, and saw that an author had used some ideas I did in my threads, with a different spin here and there.

Ideas are rarely original. The author was also unlikely to have seen my threads, much less ripped them off, even though it was for the same characters. But I was happy to see that somebody else shared my thoughts and viewed the character dynamics in the way I did.

The post title reminded me of this anecdote.

anons, what do you think about fan theories that two canons are in the same universe just because one or both references the other? especially if the canons are created by the same person/company or the creators are friends.

i wish it were still kosher to namedrop people you like threading with in the canon threads. :( i don't bother reaching out for fandom friends anymore, but i still get excited when i tag someone on memes and they play well and i want to let other people into the canon know. but no, i gotta worry about "hi ____" and "lol selfdrop".
