I'm honestly really excited for Fire Emblem Echoes. FE2 is pretty much the only game I haven't played or watched an LP for so I'm hoping they do the remake better than they did shadow dragon.

Same here! I did read an LP of it, but I honestly forgot how it goes. I also hopes that it does well and maybe it might opens up an Echoes subseries for the rest of the older games (personally hoping for FE4).

Fingers crossed for a translation on par with Fates.

they did solid work before so what happened with fates. did they fire all their g good writers or

staff changes and a change in direction bc of higher-ups in recent years iirc

one of their main translators got fired over breaking his nda in a podcast interview by talking about the wip xenoblade chronicles localization and some of the decisions being made for that, since then their translation quality took a nosedive in accuracy

fates got extra bad because the localization was handled by multiple people, at least one person on the team went overboard in toning down potentially controversial subject matter, and combined with a lack of streamlining the localization ended up inconsistent with itself a lot

that makes sense. sounds like both the original writers and localisers could use with downsizing the amount of people set to work on the script.

eh that's still more treehouse's fault then it is NoA. Treehouse was never a really good translation team but more of an overglorfied post translation localization thing. Part of why a lot of things got suddenly toned down and or removed when they went full translation and did piss poor work and stoped talking to Nintendo of Japan to verify their work.

Hence why Nintendo of Japan and Atlus are still pissed over Treehouse demanding the cutting out the hot spring scene in Tokyo Mirage Session for no reason.

Hopefully with some of the firings and removal of pedophiles they will go back to actual localization and not regressive liberalization

Deets on these? I know both Atlus JP and USA got flack for some of Treehouse's localization choices in TMS so I wouldn't be shocked to hear about them being a tiny bit miffed about it. However, what's this about NoJ getting pissed off and there being pedophiles at Treehouse?

The director and co-director of the game helped with some of the costume design changes so that they would sill look cute, good, and work for the characters. This is the part they agreed with and wanted to help with since Kiria's outfist barely made through over there. Honestly the people that complained about this never buy games anyways and are just griping to gripe about SJWs, because these were smart and well worked out changes. Hell even the background picture had a change in it that was nice.

However the complete removal of the Hot Spring DLC and it's swim costumes, which was no where near as bad as Treehouse claimed it was. What's sad is that these could of easily been fixed with very few changes if the even need to be. Cover up Kiria's midriff but leave the sides, put a skirt on Tsubasa, give Touma a snorkel and goggles.

This was to pander to the FE tumblr crowd who weren't going to buy the game in the first place, struck a nerve with the Director and Co-director who both denounced that change. Nintendo of Japan is pissy because it made them look bad as the parent company and the game got called a flop when it wasn't, and might of impeded talks on a sequel. The game was pretty popular.

Alison Rapp was the main pedo and was part of the reason why Fates translation is so bad. The s was never suppose to be there, sorry.

Rapp wasn't even involved in the changes in Fates let alone its localization in general since her job was PR when she still worked at Nintendo so I have no clue you're talking about.

Also, Treehouse is still toning dialogue in the FE series so I'm pretty sure Rapp's firing didn't magically change their:
