This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

less a woe and more just awkward? when you get an opportunity to have A and B interact but you realize B's player is not either not actually a great rper (grammatical errors, run-on sentences, characterization that's inconsistent or very superficial, info-dumping, one-liners, lack of yes and or putting the onus of progressing the thread on you), or the log or prompt they offer you is criminally boring, or when you sit down and try to make it work anyway you don't see the cr going anywhere interesting despite the ideas you had in your head.

like, the idea of their cr was nice, but the reality of it in actual practice isn't great... sucks. especially when they seem excited about it but you aren't so much anymore.

i'm too shy to put my conventionally 'gross' kink on any game plotting posts and am just batting my eyelashes hoping someone sees it on my yes list and approaches me like a clown... all of the game posts have kinks that are outside of the box in mainstream society but accepted within dwrp with the most 'extreme' just being stuff like noncon and cum inflation and not necessarily stuff that people say 'ew' at, so i feel like i'll stick out

sometimes playing a villain gets too lonely. i knew what i was getting into obviously but i feel like i've become the bad times dispenser for my entire cast and it would be nice to thread with a character who wants to be around mine once in a while

Posting to a TDM on an invite-only game and seeing someone else posted the same character. Now I feel self-conscious of how well I'm writing and it's killing my drive to continue the thread.

my close castmate has been much more active in their other game for a few months now, while barely scrapping up ac in the one we share. i don't begrudge them getting their fun where they can, but i wish they communicated their intentions to stay or drop our game more clearly, so i knew whether to still count on them for threads or to keep making plans with them. they've failed to show up or tagged once then abandoned every single one of the threads we said we'd do.

it's getting a little exhaustive. i know they're the kind of person who likes to feel effusively welcome and get hyped over tagging, but it's really difficult to rouse enthusiasm and give them that energy anymore, when i know everything we talk about today will get apologetically handwaved tomorrow.

nobody's around on plurk, i'm waiting for a bunch of tags (including from a psl i'm super into), and anoncomms are quiet
i'm lonely but in that 'wanting to rp because it's a social hobby in addition to wanting the excitement of a tag email' way

I want a genuinely horror/survival game but I feel like the last time we had a game like that with a strong premise was Snowblind. I keep looking at the game list, praying to find an interesting place where to send my blorbo to suffer, and nothing catches my eyes.

The struggle when your RP partner messages you to tell you that they're jonesing for new threads and they can't wait to play out some new thing, and you want to be excited but you know this is temporary and they're never going to actually tag back

Got a long awaited castmate from an old fandom!

Except they're never around. And when they are around, their writing has enough careless mistakes to make me question whether or not they'll be a good castmate. I guess I'll never know because they drop every thread (with everyone, not just me) after two or three responses. :(

i saw someone posting on memes that i wanted to tag, but i kept holding off because i didn't know if they would want to thread with me. i noticed that they haven't posted anything in a while, so i worked up the nerve to pm them to ask if they wanted to thread only to find out that they deleted their account.

I haven't been able to string together enough decent sentences to tag back for weeks. It's not even that the sentences are 'bad', there's simply nothing in my head to put down.

I feel awful keeping my rp buddies waiting. I don't want to hiatus or drop these threads but ?????

i want to start a game. i have this idea i love and did a ton of work for it. its mildly unique and there arent other games in its niche currently. id love to play in it. people ive spoken to said it was a good idea. but im a very quiet player. my CHARACTERS in games are popular but i dont talk out of character to people. i dont have a huge group of rp friends. im too afraid to try and fail. feels lame.

I think I'm burned out. I have no drive to tag at all. I don't even want to sit and talk about my characters on plurk like I usually do, I just have no creative juices left. Every time I think about tagging I just sit there staring at the empty text box for hours and then give up. I've had this before but never this bad :(

i play a popular character from a popular canon and i cant app them anywhere i want to because theres a couple of players who either app to multiple games with this character or theyre game hopping with their ship and have been for a while now and it really bums me out
