asking this earnestly: if that's ic for my castmates to do (which i mean, it is) is that an ok ask or is it weird and controlling? like they're not technically doing anything wrong and i did choose to play a villain

if you were speaking to me, it would be fine. i wouldn't think that was weird or controlling.

as for the average dwrper idk :(

being a good rper is about compromise. even if it is ic they can always find ways around it so they're not actively making things less fun for you. "it's ic" isn't a good argument when it means being a shitty castmate.

but like. why would you assume the people who know your villain better would just believe these randoms warning them about them, without talking to them etcetc

i quite like these situations because if all the players are on the same page it can be funny as fuck

In theory people who know the villain better shouldn't automatically believe some random but in practice, even though Psychic Villain Senses are in many ways a thing of the past, automatically believing the first person who tells a character a villain is evil even if it doesn't make ic sense is one of the last vestiges of that kind of thing that still exists in the wild. I haven't personally had an issue with this but I've seen it happen.

the "doesn't make ic sense" is simply because they want to win at rp
