rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

I think I'm burned out. I have no drive to tag at all. I don't even want to sit and talk about my characters on plurk like I usually do, I just have no creative juices left. Every time I think about tagging I just sit there staring at the empty text box for hours and then give up. I've had this before but never this bad :(

This was me a few months ago, so I just took it as a sign that I need a break from rp to maybe get the creative juices flowing again, so I stepped away from rp.

Then I realized that I had a ton of free time to dedicate to my other creative hobbies now that I wasn't stuck doing tags for two or three hours a day after work. My art has improved considerably and I've been kicking myself for not backing away from rp sooner lol. Technically an rp break did get my creative juices flowing, just not in the way I'd really expected. Take an rp break and dig into something else you love doing!

Seconding the idea of a hiatus. Taking a break and removing that sense of obligation for a while takes the pressure off, which might make it easier whenever you choose to come back.

Hiatuses don't work for me, sadly. They make me want to rp even less and I usually end up dropping everything (which I don't want to do). I do need to work on feeling obligated to tag though, I think that a big part of it is constantly feeling like people are waiting for my tags and will be disappointed in me if I can't do them.

commit to 1 - 3 tags a day until you feel better
