oh anon, i understand. once upon a time ago i tried to open a game, but i realized that without an rp clique i had no way to really spread my game around nor did anyone want to help me mod it either so it fizzled out after just a couple months. turns out im not that creative when it comes to events and i couldve used a list mod too

oh sure! though im trying to be vague so nobody i have talked to realises it. i feel like a loser for having put SO much effort into something and then just not gone through with it because im too afraid of it failing since i dont have an rp clique.

but basically horror game focusing on junji ito/lovecraft and lesser known horror authors/games. the setting is very large with a lot of npcs and things to do in terms of cults one could investigate/join, magic you could learn, and a heavy focus on exploration. but like with that sort of horror, the more one investigates, the more negative/bad things happen due to it. the idea would be 'events' would usually spiral from characters investigating locations/magic/npcs/cults/the world. horror games always seem so reactionary that id like to see a game where the horror sort of comes from characters existing/doing things and accidentally causing something. kind of like being trapped in an ito story.

as a junji ito and obscure horror game fan you can colour me intrigued anon

id join this! i don't think you need to have a ton of players to have it be successful btw! what matters is the players you do have engage the plot and each other and have fun, and i think that you'd get enough interest to run it even without a rp clique

if you're unsure, maybe try putting up an interest check on plurk (make sure it's replurkable)! not everyone who responds will app to the game but you'd still get a general idea of how many people might be interested

that sounds incredible honestly, im a huge sucker for horror game and i dont think ive seen any based on junji ito or lovecraft yet!

i definitely think if the concept is strong enough youll get bites and this could go somewhere if youre willing to try. a good way to get advertisement is to make a game plurk and ping the dw news account

i would honestly wait. if you look at at the dwrp plurk, you'll see a LOT of new games were just announced/started in the last month or so. it is possible your game will be lost in the enthusiasm for new games. i would say wait until april if you can, and that might suss out what new games are clicking or not right now.
