I’m looking for a medium-paced game with elements of action and plot, preferably something with either horror or even fantasy. The issue is I want to play a character who is 14 at the end of his canon, which doesn’t meet the 16+ requirement of some of the places I’ve looked at, even though he’d fit well in a darker setting. Also prefer little to no power nerfing.

Not super into space or sci-fi, but if it’s a good fit I wouldn’t be against it.

LOST CARNIVAL: faeries and fair rides

	Do you ever think about running away? The carnival was the perfect place to do it – run by an eccentric and otherworldly fae called the Ringmaster, it travelled across the multiverse with little more in mind than simply entertaining the beings of different worlds and exploring what each universe had to offer. Some signed on by choice, while others became accidentally drafted into service after gaining a debt to the Ringmaster. Some of both wound up staying for multiple years, settling into the carnival as a home away from home. As imperfect and strange as its travels can be, its paid employees receive powerful faerie boons – favours from the Ringmaster that can be used to change your world or yourself as you see fit. While working there, it’s possible to learn magic, learn new skills, and discover parts of yourself you never knew existed. It’s also possible that you might grow some fantastical new physical features from the presence of the Ringmaster’s faerie magic, though the reviews of that particular service are mixed. In the carnival you could become a new you, live a new life, and return home without ever having missed a thing. It used to be so easy. But now the same faerie powers that enable the carnival’s journeys have returned to seek vengeance for actions of the ancient past. With long forgotten ties to both the Summer and Winter Courts of Arcadia, the Ringmaster has taken the carnival on the run, fighting to elude the enemies and allies she abandoned for a life among mortals eons ago – and all the while, those that follow her have been dragged into a battle between multiversal powers they never knew existed. The Faerie Courts' hold on the multiverse is growing. How far will you run? Lost Carnival is a panfandom game centered around the activities of a mysterious carnival, capable of travelling between dimensions, and bringing a motley crew of indentured employees with it. Major themes include the mental and physical transformations that come with being exposed to the carnival’s faerie magic, as well as the dangers that come from meddling with other worlds. The game has entered its second year and its second IC season - stakes are higher than ever as characters are forced to fight for their freedom and potentially for the fate of the entire multiverse. has anyone tried to make a battle royale type game? the game starts in a random location each time the battle starts, and the final standing is crowned victor and granted a wish, whatever they want. peace for their world, to return home, etc.

the game restarts each time in a different location, with about a week/month hiatus for characters so they can rest/recuperate since they'll keep their injuries from the last game.

Transforming a SoL character into an adventurer

Copying into this post because it was made at the tail-end of it. I thank the anon that replied to this, as it is a very sound idea.

So I want to play something similar to Bilbo Baggins. That is, a normal person with no interest in adventuring that thinks of home and its comforts when he's out there; but, that actually gains an adventuring spirit by the end, thus allowing him to go into more quests.

I already have a character in mind for this, and I think I could make him resourceful on adventures through his intellect, but at the same time I don't know how I'd get him onto quests without stretching his characterization; or at least without presenting him with a quest that he'd be nigh-vital for, such as it was in the case of Bilbo in the Hobbit; or for a reward the character would be willing to risk his life for.

When a slice-of-life character is given the option in a game to relax and let the heroes go on adventures, what other ways are there to kick them out of their comfort zone, by their will or otherwise? How do you turn it into organic character development without making it feel OOC from his departure from canon?

An anon already suggested pairing him with stupid adventurers that may have a knack for getting into trouble as it happened to Bilbo himself as well, though I'd like to hear other points of view as well.

It's a take off the ad a few weeks ago - it was very hot but sadly OP was full up by the time I found it, wondering if anyone else would be interested:

-An Alpha and Omega have antipathy towards each other: They're other opposing politicians (different parties, not direct rivals), working for the same company and gunning for the same promotion, or even sports rivals trying to sabotage the other, in either case the Omega doesn't want to play to stereotype.

-Heat or pheromones come into play, and the two end up bonding, and the omega ends up pregnant as a result.

-Hatesex, semi-public/sneaking around, knotting/cumflation, maybe pregnancy sex, maybe a slow burn affection growing between the pair.

Prefer to play Omega but can easily do Alpha, drawn or la pb is okay, characters must be 18+ or reasonably so.

Yo I'm looking for some BOOKS to read, particularly fiction with lgbt themes/queer romance. Really particularly, historical fiction and mystery stories with gay stuff. Or literally anything.

I have been reading Sarah Waters books, which I REALLY like (read Tipping the Velvet, The Night Watch and The Paying Guests so far, and I have Affinity waiting to read), and I am also reading The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue, and I have Rainbow Rowell's Carry On to read as well.

If you have any recs at all I would be really grateful!! Ebook-only novels are ok, too.

Twitter is just kind of annoying due to the character limit which lends itself to spammy behavior, but Facebook is actively harmful, invasive of user rights and run by a huge manchild who doesn't understand that respecting privacy > chasing profit. I never used it before (Facebook is basically like Plurk in terms of toxic culture, IMO, except even worse as it invites constant and harmful comparison) but I have even less of a reason now.

I don't judge anyone else for sticking with it, necessarily, but anyone who acts like this isn't a big fucking deal that Facebook illegally scraped data, sold out to sketchy organizations and opened the door to Russian interference has their head up their ass. It's an awful site with awful principles run by awful people.

i recently finished listening to the balance arc of the adventure zone and i loved it! did a lot of marathoning toward the end.

i'm definitely still into it and intend to listen to the mini arcs and the new stuff when it starts. i don't rp anybody from it though. i considered kravitz, but i didn't feel like he had enough development to really play him as more than taako's love interest.

i recently found an rp partner who is great about pretty much everything - fun, engaging to write with, solid writing, etc. it's mostly smut we're writing and from a few OOC comments, i know he is getting off on it. i didn't need to know that but i can live with it.

however, i just found out he's married. i've either never known that fact about my partners or if i knew them ooc-ly, i either knew they weren't dating or we weren't smut. i'm not entirely sure what to do with this information - i don't want to lose a good writing partner over something where, if i didn't know the truth, i wouldn't care, but i also don't want to be that person.

your characters are fucking. you're not fucking him. i would personally suggest that you love yourself and not thread with people who make it obvious oocly that they're jerking it to your threads, but whatever, i'm not your mom.

his personal life is his business. there are plenty of people in relationships who still write smut rp and their partners don't care. either way, you don't need to know and it's really none of your business unless he starts hitting on you oocly.
