Twitter is just kind of annoying due to the character limit which lends itself to spammy behavior, but Facebook is actively harmful, invasive of user rights and run by a huge manchild who doesn't understand that respecting privacy > chasing profit. I never used it before (Facebook is basically like Plurk in terms of toxic culture, IMO, except even worse as it invites constant and harmful comparison) but I have even less of a reason now.

I don't judge anyone else for sticking with it, necessarily, but anyone who acts like this isn't a big fucking deal that Facebook illegally scraped data, sold out to sketchy organizations and opened the door to Russian interference has their head up their ass. It's an awful site with awful principles run by awful people.

twitter needs to work on its anti-harassment policies and maybe, idk, get ride of the fucking nazis already but facebook's issues are far far far worse and need to be taken seriously.
