okay, what else is there? the premise itself is not just generic but feels half constructed and unfinished. sorry to any players looking to be excited by this but if the mods aren't going to develop an actual plot, there's not going to be much there for you to do.

who needs actual plot when it looks pretty and all the cool kids are blindly bandwagoning in, anon? that's all that matters in a game these days, right?

is it wrong, though? all the "popular" games are generic as fuck and a lot of the cool ideas are ignored for the sake of space horror sex rehash #4567. reverie is proof in practice that people will flood towards ANYTHING so long as it ticks the same three bland boxes, even if there's no plot to speak of.

i might be bitter but i know i'm not the only one. and on top of dwrp being cliquier and more insular than ever, both icly and oocly, it's sad to see.

but what if some of these players never had a chance to play the genre before? or what if they just really like space themes? that's like looking at the sci-fi section of a bookstore and going "huh. has a dragon on the cover, must be some boring high fantasy shit"

point is, if people are interested and want to have fun, let them have fun. it's still in its TDM stages, so there's no telling where things are going to go just yet either.

i'd challenge you to top level on the meme and see if it goes anywhere. redundant settings are only boring if you have the exact same characters doing the exact same thing.

Considering how all three of those games were at one point or another absolutely massive and the interest already in this game's tdm, I'd say it's a formula that's going to continue to work no matter the seeming genericness

i can't speak for everyone else, but i prefer games that are bland and generic like this because i like making my own fun and character drama plots than giant mod ones.

partially? but rather than just psls with a friend or two, i like the spread of players in games like this and making fun with new people.

except there's little point to it being labeled a "game" then if there's no actual plot. it's just a large, shared psl masquerading as a game.

if you're playing plotless checkers you are truly missing out on the potential for drama that checkers offers
