cancel any other automatic withdrawals now, anon idk if your bank does exactly what mine does, but that option with mine just stops new payments from overdrawing you-- you can't make new purchases with insufficient funds, but scheduled or recurring payments will still go through and overdraw. I guess they do it so your bills still get paid if you're a little short or something but yeah you probably can't count on automated payments stopping, ftr

Computer help question time:

I'm using Windows 10 and my little battery icon in the taskbar isn't showing up? I've gone to Properties > Turn System Items On/Off, but the Power option is switched to off and greyed out so I can't switch it back to on.

I've tried leaving it hoping that it will just pop up on its own once the power gets low enough, but that doesn't work either and I don't even get a 'low battery' warning.

Does anyone know how to fix this? It's really getting annoying not knowing how much battery life I have left.

does it count uses in entries & comments in my own journal, or just uses in the entries themselves?

best work around for this is to go through your icons, pick out the 15 you want (or 14 if you like your default), delete them, then reupload them with the same keywords. the default is that it keeps the last 14+ default that you have uploaded. this way, you get to pick what you want to keep.

Sometimes the more you think it out, the more detailed you make it, the more caught up people get in 'would my character respond to this' 'HOW would my character respond to this' and get caught up in indecision mode, whereas the bullshit you shat in 5 minutes gets an "lol ok let's go" because it's simple.

Other possibility: bad subject choice for the first one.

It'd hardly be a solution to the complaint that too many games these days seem the same buuuuut

would anyone be interested in an RP set in the StarCraft universe

The issue is that it's both sci-fi AND kinda horror which are two genres people seem to be sick of. It'd pretty much haft to be a war game with characters possibly getting conscripted into the Terran, Zerg, and Protoss factions.

The idea's been kicking around in my head for a while though I'd have to replay the games to see if there's any merit in the concept.

looking for a female character (ideally, but if you think of a male character who you really like that fits the bill then i'm open to that) who seems really sweet and harmless normally, but is completely batshit under the nicey exterior. similar to tsumiki mikan, maybe. yandere is always a plus. only interested in anime, manga, and video game characters.

I really want to get into fandom rp and games on bakerstreet. could anyone explain to me how it works exactly? or give me some tips? I know it probably seems pretty straightforward but I simply don't want to make any mistakes. ^^;

you've already made a mistake

i'm joking but only sort of. dreamwidth rpers can judge very quickly based on first impressions and on shallow things, like icons and OOC typing style.

if you want to just get started, find a character you want to play, make a journal with icons that don't look like complete shit, and start tagging around. a lot of people won't tag back and/or will drop the thread within a few days, but it's usually not personal. most RP is in bracket format, with actions and narration in brackets ([]) and dialogue outside of them. if you can write semi-engagingly and play a character people are familiar with, you'll get a thread going eventually. DWRP can be hard to break into because people are insular and tend to stick with people they already know and RP with, but it's possible. do you have any questions that are more specific? "how it works" is answered in the RESOURCES link up above.

I RPed an obscure canon character (she died in the first episode of the series) for a game I was in (on another site), but the game died and now I've got this character I love but nowhere to play her and most games don't like canon OCs. But I don't want to completely lose her

Should I rewrite some of her history and change her name to make her entirely my own and app her somewhere? Try to find a place to play her? Forgot about her entirely?
