I'm bad at this

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

Undertale probably is worth checking out for the novelty and good music. It only takes a couple hours and is $10, iirc, so it's not a huge investment.

Two caveats: this game actually judges harshly on the inclination to level grind. If you're someone who likes to see your character becoming stronger over time, this is probably not your game.

Also, the humor tends to be of the wackier and internet-referencing kind. It's well done and not like, "stupid random" humor, but still maybe not up everyone's alley.

if you want to maximize your enjoyment of undertale with minimum time invested, do a true pacifist run. you'll still get the "neutral" ending, but after the neutral ending you can reload and get the golden one.
then watch a video of the asshole run (still pretty short) unless you really wanna invest in the time it takes to get good enough to kill the genocide run final boss.

The original run of it is definitely worthy picking up (I only read the first volume of the New 52 reboot and wasn't a huge fan.) I will point out too that I was able to find all of them online to download for free; not in the same place, but yeah, they're able to be found.

My opinion is that the female characters are very strongly written and are very interesting. The plot lines are solid and flow well together. The bond that the lead women share is especially well done (and I mean in the canonical sense of best friends. not always getting along, but always supporting one another throughout all of the trials of life and their work.) The characters are multi-faceted, multi-dimensional (so not flat and boring or even predictable.) Some of the issues that the series includes throughout are handled with the depth one would hope - real world stuff (I won't give spoilers, but situations that actually happen to people? A couple of which are dramatic, but not past the point of rationality given the nature of the story.)

I walked away from reading the series loving and caring about the characters and their lives, which I think is a good sign of a well-written story.

You'll want to have a fair grasp of the DC Universe in general, or you might not pick up on certain elements of the stories. Timeline specifically, but also enemy names, other super hero names, places, etc. :) There are always Wikis that you can look stuff up from though! Being familiar with Green Arrow is specifically a huge plus.

If you read it, I hope you enjoy! :D

One last comment too. This was one of the first comic series outside of manga that I read fully. Thus, I was unaware that different artists will draw for the same series, for several volumes/storylines at a time. This is probably the case for all major comics (and I'm just unfamiliar with them, lol), but! The art styles do shift around throughout the series.

yeah that's pretty fair. it's fun to check out every now and then, but it doesn't have a ton of staying power except for the occasional better-than-usual episode
