trying to sleep, but i keep waking up with these small, bitelike, itchy bumps on my legs, and i made the mistake of telling myself "maybe you have bedbugs"

Likelier possibility could be fleas if you don't find easily spotted bugs and the bites are tiny. And nope, you don't need to have pets to get them or a grody house. Just a neighbor with an infestation or walking by unfortunate animals or people carrying them :/

Oh my GOD I am experiencing something similar to this and it is freaking me the fuck out. We have no pets and we keep our house generally pretty fucking tidy, but we live in a complex with some pretty sketchy people and I'm working in contact with other people often. I'm mortified by either option. UGH.

Bed bug bites are usually in clusters of like three or four. I had an infestation once that apparently wasn't even that bad, but I still saw them crawling on me once in a while. They're pretty big, actually, about the size of an apple seed.
