i'm not really big into horror of any kind so the past few years for rp for me have been pretty fucking meh with how most new games are some kind of weirdass ~psychological torture~ or gore porn or grief porn in general, which is fine if you like it but there's a definite trend recently in doing this a lot, i been in this hobby like a decade so i know it'll swing back but when

i've been having a week long walk down nostalgia lane over my first LJ roleplay. i feel so sappy, because it was all so bad and terrible, but it was so much fun. i miss feeling that way about roleplaying...

what are your methods for dealing with passive-aggressive/covertly aggressive people?

i typically just ignore them (calling them out directly never works ime because they immediately cry victim and YOU MISUNDERSTOOD ME WEH) but occasionally someone will escalate things to the point of blatant hostility, and i wonder if there's a way to nip this shit in the bud before it gets that far

I think we need to move away from it being midnight anywhere. Even if it's the mod's timezone, the way things are moving towards people having jobs and lives, it's not so easy to guarantee they'll be awake at that time.

i watch funny videos or listen to music I like singing to. i don't plurk about when i'm feeling sad because i hate feeling like i'm whining for attention from people i know who don't really give a shit about my issues.

if you really need to talk, i'd say go to one friend you can trust to vent to and cheer you up.

hey anons, what games were you in that ended, and how did it go? which game endings stick out to you as a great way to go out?

I was involved in a few game closings but only one really stood out to me

It was this really small game and the mods never ran events, just empty promises. So when they finally ran an event it was awesome! Except not all the event posts required mod involvement and tags from npcs to continue and it took them foreeever to tag back

finally they declared the end of the event because threads were taking too long to wrap up, and made this one huge epic post basically declaring how each player battle went down having the mod characters basically the heroes of the universe. Me and a couple other players told them that wasn't really fair, because no one had a chance to actually participate.

They told us we could continue to play out our threads even though the plot was over and they wouldn't be involving their npcs. Someone called them out on it, like no that's not how that works. You decided what happened to our characters already, it's not fair for us to be able to continue if the ending is already there and we can't change anything that happens.

No response from the mods until two days later they closed the game because they couldn't handle the stress

What flexible squares port are you using? I can't remember which one causes that problem, but I know that the one I linked in the subject doesn't; it's an issue with the import code.

Terraria, maybe? It's cheap, fun, can be hard if you really want to get into the late monster-slaying game, but that's completely optional and you can easily stick to making giant silly buildings and exploring the underground.

I know not everyone is a fan of game-transplant characters, but it always gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to see two characters who were really good friends meeting up in a second jamjar that's significantly better off than the first. Little things like that make me glad that some games allow them.

I'm getting into reading comics "properly" for the first time in my life and I'm loving it. Previously I'd only really read the odd issue of Adventure Time, but now I've amassed a good $100-worth of comics on my Comixology wishlist (most of them DC titles) and intend on buying a small number of them each paycheck.

What comics do you read, anons? And do you buy your comics in digital or in print? In case of the latter, do you have a subscription or do you make regular treks to your local comics store to pick them up?
