I'm sure you were not expecting this but... what is your favorite time period?

I think it depends on the area you're dealing with, honestly! My own work focused a lot on classics, so I'm fairly partial to that long stretch from the Wars of the Successors to the eventual death of the Roman Republic, but I also kinda like the mess that went on in Europe and the Americas alike during the 16th-17th century, and in Asia the Song Dynasty and Meiji Japan are super interesting.
