ok twice within the past few days I've gotten a notif for a tag, then within a minute or so I get a notif that the tag was edited. the icon hasn't changed, the content of the tag hasn't changed (I pored over the original version looking for HTML glitches or typos that got fixed and couldn't find anything). as far as I can tell, absolutely nothing whatsoever has changed.

I know OTA doesn't mean 'open to absolutely everyone' but if the top level has just the character's name and canon, should I assume it's only for canonmates, or for friends of the person who topleveled (no matter what canon the other player has)?

what would you do in this situation?

karen is a stranger to you, and she is playing a character you want to psl or meme with, so you approach karen asking if she wants to do a psl or meme thread. karen says she appreciates the interest but at the moment she is too busy to start anything new. she's very polite about this. you see karen is in a musebox playing a ship with someone who's playing the character you wanted to play against karen's, so you just assume that she only wants to play against that friend of hers and move on.

a few months later, karen approaches you, asking if you want to play out that psl or meme with her. same characters as before. a quick glance at the musebox shows you that karen's friend seems to be MIA on that character, so now karen is coming to you, seeking out that same character she had originally turned down your offer for.

do you accept being sloppy seconds or do you turn her down?

Help needed. If I want to post a meme using my normal rp account (not a sock, since I don't have one), can I turn off notifications only temporarily or will all the comments for that meme come to my inbox later when I turn on notifs again?

when you post the meme, post it and use the 'don't email' with the notifications/comment option on the post itself. that should work (it does with my sock accounts that i use to post memes with). though, tbh, if you have any desire to post memes more than once, i'd make a crappy sock account just to do it with (and i'd still suggest putting do not email in the notification/comment dropdown box.

rpanons is generally speaking a little bit on the casual side–you don't have to drop any sort of sn to talk! people usually use plurk to keep up with 1-on-1 partners or people they know in group games.

Anon who was having some pdf issues a bit back, I know one other anon mentioned having it and I found a fix for it. Hopefully this works for the other anon and anyone else who may have a similar issue.

Turns out it was a setting issue, not a profile issue like some suggested. It probably was a change to settings made with an update since I definitely hadn't touched a thing in there.

So anyone else having an issue where PDFs just open in a new tab and then close right away and lock up the browser doing this infinitely you'll want to do this:

In Firefox go to options then select applications. In there you should see three lines for PDFs. For the first two PDF file (application/binary) and PDF File (binary/octet-stream) change those to "Always ask". The third one is labeled Portable Document Format (PDF) change that to "Preview in Firefox"

Also works in Waterfox since that's what I actually use.

Who here uses Amazon Music apps on their phone?

I got a new pone and I popped on an album to listen to, then deleted it later to make room for a new one But the phone still has it listed with a greyed out SD card symbol next to it.

How do I get rid of that? Google is useless, it keeps talking about how the Amazon Music System shut down ages ago.

maybe if i'm severely depressed, but normally, no. bad things can happen to good people. good things happen to bad people. no one is owed a good life just because they're good and think they deserve it.

i do firmly believe in personal responsibility though, and making what you can of life. you made bad choices you're going to suffer bad consequences. that's not karma/god/whatever's doing, that's your doing.

Would anyone like to see an Embarrassing Sex Story meme? Not play out the actual sexy times, but your character's top level is them pretty much relaying one of their stories to someone who listens and people respond accordingly. Example:

you should let them know, anon! for all you know, they might ship it too but also are too shy to say anything. i ended up with an in-game ship and about five different psls because i casually mentioned in a plurk meme that i shipped my character with someone else's, and it turned out that they also shipped it so we decided we wanted to make it happen.
