The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. some of the main "general politics" subs are left-leaning. feels like every post i skim, there's at least a few right-wing tittybabies whining about how it's UNFAIR that the sub is overwhelmingly LEFTISTS and that beautiful repubbies and libbies are downvoted into oblivion.

and of course, pretty much every comment i see with a negative rating is blatantly hateful and useless. op talks about hillary, to use a popular example? KILLARY, LOCK HER UP, CORRUPT, SHE LOST THE ELECTION FOR A REASON, you know the rest.

i've seen some people comment and say they were R/L but if they don't act like a jackass, they don't get downvoted.

this is also true that the genpol subreddits tend to be left-leaning, but only because it's like you said, most of the right-leaning folks showing up in those subreddits are deliberately combative. most of the time they're just people traveling from the alt-right subs to try and "make a point" about how people "react to different viewpoints" by spewing hateful shit and acting like it proves them right when it gets downvoted.
