statistically speaking, trans folk are more likely to die than cis folk from reasons related to discrimination or bigotry, either from outright violence or being denied access to shelter, work, or healthcare. the number goes up exponentially if they're trans and poc, particularly black.

this isn't even particularly new information, either.

The point is that it isn't part of the scope of the research done. Hell, the research didn't even get into things like are the couples same sex or not? Do factors such as age, race, religion, socioeconomic status, etc. play a role? Is there any effect with more or less children? Is there trouble with the marriage? Research has shown previously that single people have an advantage as far as overall happiness and life expectancy over people who are having troubles in their marriage, but not so much over couples with a good relationship. This research is showing that single people are happier in all cases, but it leaves out a lot of details about the sample pool. That fact alone makes me question the validity of this data because there are many things that can influence happiness besides whether a person is married and/or has children.
