usanon here, we had sex ed in 3rd grade (9-10 years old) maybe around the middle of the school year... and my stupid fucking uterus decided to give me my first period like a month before that so i wondered if i was fucking bleeding to death.

the latch on my bedroom window didn't work and i woke up with bloody sheets so it just made sense to my dumb kid brain that i was stabbed in the crotch in the middle of the night. it also made sense to my dumb kid brain to... hide that shit from my parents. i'd just stuff TP in my crotch and be extra helpful with laundry so my mom would never see the bloody parts.

idk how i managed to successfully hide it from my parents, but i remember being pissed as fuck about us getting sex ed not long after and that my dumb kid brain got worked up for nothing.

Oh, not formal sex ed. A friend of mine gave me a "how babies are made" book that included the basic mechanics of sex when I was about 5 or 6.

I'm also USAnon, but I didn't get in-school sex ed until 15 when several classmates were already pregnant. I'm glad your school was much more on the ball than mine.

on the ball? lol, barely. the school nurse told the girls in my class that "sex feels so good and it's really emotional and fun ohhhhhh man"

right in between "puberty will make you hairy and bloody and hormonal to prefer for when peen goes in vagine" and "uh um BUT DON'T DO IT YET WAIT UNTIL YOU'RE OLDER BECAUSE YOU COULD GET PREGNANT"

and no mention of birth control methods or stds until next year when we learned about the male body. and there was a shit ton of bullying with no teacher intervention, whether it was big tiddy girls, boys not being masculine enough, girls not being feminine enough, ThE gAyS, the list goes on.

that school district was very bad at taking care of bullying tbh. i would know, lol.

it came off more as a slip because maybe the school nurse felt nostalgic about some nice dick or something and had to correct herself in front of the kids. definitely way inappropriate. her "BUT DON'T THO" correction probably went unheard because my classmates started mumbling about boys to each other right after her "sex feel gud" slip.

the school district was a shitshow in general tho. bullying would be outright ignored or excused with "well maybe he likes you uwu you must have misunderstood him" type shit. a lot of "boys will be boys" and "um karen is related to someone who works in the school district, she would NEVER do a bad thing EVER!"

i was heavily bullied for multiple reasons. not trying to sound like a self-dx edgelord but i feel like i got ptsd from elementary and middle school. nobody should ever go through what i have, especially not a child.

i feel like i'm exaggerating how bad it was but it's not like i had any fucking friends to hang out with me and distract me, lmao.
