Pointless gripe: The mods in my game are taking forever to handle my castmate's app and I'm feeling endlessly buttchafed about it, but the player seems fine with waiting so I can't really do anything about it. I just really want to play with the character. :(

I recently picked up some activity on Bakerstreet and the bizarre way the meme RPing seems to be happening is least to say baffling. Every day there's at least a couple of memes, they seem to expire really quickly. No new replies after a couple of days. Everyone posts a top level but very few tag into them. How do you even hope to attract the attention of the players outside of people who watch this comm daily when the memes move on so quickly? You'll have to be posting into everything daily or you're buried in the dust of time.

It must be a nightmare for anyone who just happens to want some RP fun randomly and comes looking for something out of the blue.

Also, it seems like a lot of bother to post a new meme, mostly from what I see, for the benefit of only a couple of threads. Because around 90% of the replies in a meme are top levels and sometimes a rare tag-in.

And before someone points it out, I do know that I need to be proactive myself to get threads and I have been. I don't really have a problem with finding stuff to RP. Even when I played in games I did the legwork of tagging into other people's posts and toplevels rather than posting my own.

All this just seems so strange to me. I'm not trying to point any fingers here, just genuinely confused as to how is this supposed to work?

It probably depends on what the police were there for. As for whether it's common, I honestly don't think you're going to find too many shut-in RPers who have ever had the police come to their homes/their landlords react to it, so rpa is a really strange place to ask this. Or are you trying to figure if it's illegal for them to make the threat, or what?

has anyone who has used rinkya ever gotten a refund when they've asked for one or argued about commission cost?

i usually only use them at the last minute if i find something i really want and i don't pay for the ones with my own po boxes since i very rarely buy fandom stuff to make it worth it. i bought two things which was basically one of those con-style paper bags for 1100 yen and a cheap flimsy coaster for 1100 yen for the same friend and they charge extra commission for anything more than 1000 yen. however, this weighs like nothing and IS basically nothing. i know they need to make their money somewhere, but they charged me an extra $20 usd for EACH one. i don't want to not pay since they're rare and i want the items and i also want to continue to use their services (they also have a limited edition art book and a game on hold for me), but the idea of paying this much is absolutely ridiculous.

Not only are opposite-sex friendships within marriage risky, they are a form of betrayal. When a person gets married or enters into an exclusive committed relationship, that person expects to be his or her partner's lover, closest and most intimate confidante, and priority. Of course, we all need close friendships outside of our marriage; however, there are plenty of people of our own gender to befriend.

In my opinion, it's simply foolish to disregard the strong association between opposite-sex friendships in marriage and infidelity. Deciding that these have no place in your marriage is one of the wisest and most pro-active measures you can take to protect the integrity of your relationship in the long-term.

It isn't weak or insecure to do this. It takes a strong person to stand by their values and to insist that there be no opposite-sex friendships within marriage. It takes a secure person to say, "I'm not living like this. I won't live with the uncertainty and the anxiety and the divided loyalties. I won't pretend that I'm not hurt because you're putting energy into this friendship instead of our relationship."

Stand by your values and vision of marriage -- you know, that whole "forsaking all others" business -- and trust your instincts.

Lately I just can't stand police crime dramas. The amount of violence and coercion they use on anyone they suspect makes me really uncomfortable and angry because the shows excuse it as 'ok' in the narrative and that hits way too close to reality in my country right now (Yeah, U.S.A, land of police brutality).

Are there any crime dramas out there that don't excuse that behavior or at least don't paint it in a 'this is just and right' light?

today I met a real life 35 yo tumblrina. they were a friend of a friend helping some buds finish a basement. essentially, they forgot some pretty vital planning of people who would be by later on this weekend to help with heavy lifting big dry wall etc. a gentle reminder from me - and I was seriously gentle because Id been told to eggshells with them but not given a reason why by anyone other than that they were 'kind of tumblry' - and they flipped. told me I triggered them, that the rest of us were aggressors (no one else had even chimed in besides my lone reminder of THEIR scheduling chat) then they flounced and sat in their car for two hours because no one knew they had left their phone and keys behind the tool boxes.

eventually they came back and it was a weird litany of abuse stories from their past equaling them having been flashed back and then words like gaslight, triggered, the special coup de grace of their announcing they recently discovered they're autistic via an online support group of "real friends" so our doing all this was just horrible. mind you all I did was remind them they forgot their own scheduling and the home owner stood up to them for minor stuff on their own earlier for being rude and bossy when confronted.

fun aside? more than one of us was spectrum or mental illness suffering (who... isn't in 2016...) and never told her because we did occupational therapy (or still do) and work with our careers or home life to own our troubles. she. apparently self diagnosed and drops hot catch words. I didnt actually think these people acted like this in real life, tbh. I assumed they just did it in their corner of the web but then went about whatever their existence was far more quietly IRL???

Question about imgur: Does it re-use the codes it gives to images? If I upload a nice picture of a flower field today, will it turn into someone else's NSFW image a year from now?

I just checked a few visuals posts I did a couple years ago, and it looks like the image urls are still good! No weird picture swaps. I use imgur almost exclusively and it hasn't done me wrong yet!

i'd like to ask some advice.

i was once a mod of a game that i loved. real life circumstances happened of a sort that led to me having to give the game (i hoped temporarily) to my helper mods and disappear. it was not temporary, i fell off the internet completely for a couple of years and the game closed in my absence - something i don't blame the helper mods for at all.

i don't even remember the passwords to any of my accounts of the mod email or anything like that, but if i could track down the people who were my helper mods back then, do you think they would appreciate the apology and explanation, or do you think it's best to let it go since it's been so long?
