What exactly do you think the point of fanfiction, roleplaying, and the core concept of fandom is? It's not just to celebrate what's there, it's to fill in the blanks.

Homestuck is a rare beast, in that the blanks won't be completely filled in for probably another year. That doesn't mean fans shouldn't be open to trying new characters out anyway. I've seen pumpkins and buckets RPed from Homestuck, both of which have had far less characterization than the two new trolls.

Hussie himself has said he doesn't mind fans making up headcanon that he later debunks. If you don't want to play with those characters, you don't have to. But I say more power to them. They'll be more in the realm of OCs than canon characters at this point, but there's nothing wrong with that, either. It's a game; we're meant to have fun with characters and situations that inspire us; it's not worth getting upset over.

Another ancestor complaint: I hate it when people immediately start shipping ancestors in corresponding pairings to the regular troll kids.

There are some parallels, but there are differences, too! Sufferer loves Disciple, I doubt Handmaid and Darkleer ever even met in canon, and I seriously side-eye anyone going for Grand Highblood <3 Summoner.

Alright, let's say sometime in the nebulous future, Meenah and Aranea (and maybe the other alpha trolls) have enough canon to app from. Like, a comfortable amount where we know their backstories and motivations and session history and all of that.

Should they be considered underage, since they physically look 15ish and all, or should they be considered adults because of the whole "I've been alive and conscious for so long that time has no meaning anymore" thing?
