rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. I think it can be understandable to a degree why people overdo her classiness? You need to remember that Kanaya was pretty much raised by Doc Scratch, who is all about being the classiest he can possibly be, for a good portion of her life. A lot of her deviations from the typical troll likely come from that upbringing. But she is still a teenage girl, which people forget a lot. Even the most mature people have their moments.

tbh this is a problem with most players and it isn't normally their fault because of how the comic presents the characters. everything is text based and without descriptions of how the character sounds, so its up to the reader to think of how a character is really acting in a certain situation.

Doc Scratch did have a strong influence on Kanaya when she was a child, but he sort of dropped off the face of the planet and never spoke to her again when she was very young. She actually mentions thinking that Doc Scratch and her memories of him were simply an imaginary friend from childhood due to how abruptly he disappeared and how vague her memories of him were.

I don't doubt that some of the classiness (particularly her big vocabulary and very proper speech) was influenced by him when she was in her very young developmental stages, but he did not raise her by any means.

Handmaid was pretty much raised by Doc Scratch. Kanaya had a few young-wriggler visits from the distant 'uncle,' long enough ago that she's no longer sure if it was real, and was raised by her lusus. I attribute more of her deviations from troll norm to being diurnal rather than nocturnal.
