Yeah, no. You're generally a really awful Darkleer. You have absolutely no grasp on a character that barely has canon and an even lesser grasp on Equius who should be at least a little bit of a basis for the ancestor.

It shouldn't matter where this crit is coming from. The point still stands you have no idea what you're doing and you joined Vatheon with him to play out your buttfucking fantasies. Please drop and go play it out in a musebox instead and spare the rest of us who might want a good Darkleer in that game.

Actally, anon, the main reason Vatheon has a Darkleer is because I was whining on plurk about how badly I wanted an ancestor to play Equius off from and didn't think I would ever get one (seriously, how many Darkleers do you see in DWRP?), and James was kind enough to indulge me. It's also worth mentioned that Darkleer was in Vatheon for a good two or three months before Summoner showed up.

As the Equius-mun in game, that kind of puts me in a unique position to judge Darkleer's characterization, doesn't it? Considering the character I play is the one James had to draw most of his source material from.

I have no problems with James' Darkleer. In fact, quite the opposite: I love how the interactions between the two of them have opened up this whole new side to Equius and given me gaming opportunities that I wouldn't have had otherwise. I can very easily imagine Equius growing up to be very like Darkleer, had circumstances been different.

So basically, anon, I don't think James' Darkleer sucks, and I'm the one in the game with the most right to bitch about it if that were the case.

Unfortunately, this is a larger game with other players to factor in, and more than just you to be the judge of things. You're also in a position where being unbiased is basically impossible, so it may in fact be the worst spot to really recognize anything objectively from.

That's a fair and valid point, and one I hadn't considered. I definitely admit to having a bias here.

Regardless, this really comes down to being an issue within the game community. Most of the HS cast in Vatheon knows each other and plurks on a daily basis, so I'd hope that any issues we have with each other would be dealt with there, instead of on anoncomm. I know that if anyone has crit about Equius or Signless, I'm open to hearing it.
