I actually came to the Homestuck thread because I wanted advice on if it was possible to pull off a good PM, so it's funny you should ask.

I do want to try her, but I'm leery of the flack Homestuck in general gets, and AFAIK the only "speaking" roles she reallys gets are that brief guidance of John and the short-lived conversation with Jade wherein Bec blew the console up, and I'm not sure if that's enough for me to be confident about a voice for her.

As a carapace player, I understand how you feel. My suggestion is to review her pages and read carefully into the narration, which normally gives an overall description of what is happening in the scene. Actions speak louder than words sometimes and understanding the Exiles comes from understanding their situation and their progression. Reviewing scenes when PM was an exile and when she was still a messenger for Prospit also highlights how she has changed and yet what she is at her core. She's loyal to her kingdom, to the friends she has made, even if they are from Derse, and is resolute in fighting Jack Noir, even after hundreds of years passed between when she sees him again on Earth.

Appreciate the advice, anon. It'd be so much easier if I could just do the whole "imply conversation in the narration" thing Hussie does for them, but that doesn't exactly make for stirring conversation, does it?

I need to try to get a handle on her voice still and do a little more review, but I'd like to get to playing her from pre-Cascade at some point or another.
