rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Another ancestor complaint: I hate it when people immediately start shipping ancestors in corresponding pairings to the regular troll kids.

There are some parallels, but there are differences, too! Sufferer loves Disciple, I doubt Handmaid and Darkleer ever even met in canon, and I seriously side-eye anyone going for Grand Highblood <3 Summoner.

I actually kind of like Handmaid/Darkleer if taken on the basis that his Void omnipotence-blocking extends to her as well. So this immortal badass used to pulling the strings of everyone for eternity suddenly can't nuke someone and the douchey parental figure she rebels against can't see her around this person...

As a Handmaid player I admit I like the pairing, but I don't know if I could ever play it out in an actual game setting. At least not without a lot of development behind it, outside of her using him to get some reprieve from Lord English and Doc Scratch. Handmaid is someone who I think would have a lot of trust issues and believes herself to be a tool by adulthood, so fighting fate is pointless and so on.

Though I also think that Handmaid is just a character in which game ships are nigh-impossible to have her in, without a lot of development surrounding them at least, so different strokes for different folk.
