whoever recommended DarkSydePhil's videos last post, fuck you. i've never hated an internet celebrity more than i despise this whiny manchild.

So, I recently picked up a new character, and I've had one or two threads with them so far, and I'm a little worried I might not really be suited to play them. The thing is, I know I can play this type of character because generally, I've always been good at them. However making replies to even the simplest of responses has been painstakingly hard.

I feel like maybe I might be psyching myself out, but I also wonder if maybe it's the replies I'm getting? It isn't that they have no hook, but that I can't seem to conjure a response that suits the character. I wonder if maybe it's had to do with the people I've been playing with, because anytime I read a tag from another person, I'm usually able to think up a perfect response, but I'm loathe to blame other people for my own shortcomings.

Obviously part of the answer is to go play with other people, right? And I will, obviously. But I was wondering, how many threads do you guys try with a new character you aren't quite solid with yet without feeling yourself settle and gain confidence before you decide to let the idea of playing them go?

why do so many americans describe themselves as irish/scottish/whatever because of heritage from 150+ years ago? people from other countries don't seem nearly as obsessed with holding on to ancestral links that have nothing to do with their actual daily lives.

i don't mean this to sound offensive or insensitive, i'm just curious. the general consensus here is that it's really bizarre/funny, but you get it from american tourists constantly.

can i get some cloud storage site recommendations?

i'm looking for something that will show me thumbnails of my pictures. thumbnails for videos are optional but appreciated. a few sites that i've tried don't seem to have that option for some reason and i don't want to have to open a photo file just to see what it's a picture of, it's inefficient.

it has to be a cloud storage site, not photobucket or imgur, because i want to upload other files too.
