Is there a list of 15 essential icons besides the one posted under resources? I always use it, but I'm wondering if anyone ever made their own alternatives, just out of curiosity.

i feel like i need at least three different "neutral" expressions because it's my most commonly used icon and i hate using the same one over and over again

but then that cuts down on my space for other expressions

so yes i would like other variations of the list too if anyone has one so i can try to compensate

does anyone have links to good manga coloring tutorials? ideally for someone beginner/mid skill level and with only a basic understanding of photoshop. and potentially some manga cleaning tutorials too? or even just photoshop tips (i have CS3 portable).

i'm not an artist, i don't have a natural eye for things like color tone or shadow, but i'd love to try and get better.

here's a tip for manga cleaning: levels! it's a great way to get rid of jpeg artifacts and make the blacks actually black

I haven't been on the RP scene in a while, so could someone tell me about any games that are network heavy as opposed to log heavy? I think first person comments would be a little easier for me personally to stick my toes back into the waters of RPing.

Game subject doesn't matter as much. Jamjars, AUs, curse shenanigans, horror, sex, slice of life, whatever

Question, anons! I want to join a game but maybe not for a few months. I want to get a feel for what it's like to play there before I make a decision because I like sticking to games for the long run. once! it was an old girlfriend and i was vacationing in her state. we went on a date to an art museum and it was actually really fun.

other than that, everyone lives north and none of them want to come south -- and i don't have money to go visit them.

back when i was in a game i played cross-canon with this other person who played a character from a show i'd never watched before and how no interest in at the time

our guys got along really well and it was a ton of fun but then i dropped out of the rp scene for a while because i got crazy sick and rl was intense

recently i was remembering those times and decided to watch the show this other character was from for something to do and ended up really liking it and the character and got all nostalgic, thought about even asking the mun to musebox some with me

looked them up and the mun isn't even playing from this medium anymore let alone playing the character

we're like passing ships in the rp night, my life is terrible

i hate it when people do this. do people not realize how horrible it feels to share your artwork and then it inspires negative emotion in people? if you're so insecure and prone to jealousy (vs envy), please don't ask to see people's art on the chance that it might make you insecure/self berating. this is especially uncomfortable if you aren't like, close with the person who asked to see

what's your opinion on lying by omission?

if someone put you in a position where they asked you not to tell someone something, would you? would you lie if you were directly asked?

obviously this is going to be very subjective based on the situation but i'm curious about anons' opinions since advice/opinions i get here tend to feel more real than what i'd get on plurk if i even got anything

that depends on if it's personal business or not.

if it is and it's got nothing at all to do with the person asking, i feel no guilt keeping it from them. even if it's not and the person asking has no right to know because they're not involved in whatever the secret is or wouldn't need to know to make an informed decision about something important, i'd still keep it secret and lie if needed.

if it is important for them to know, though, i try to make it not my problem by telling the asker to talk to the original person who told me the secret so i'm not in the middle of a potential fight between friends/lovers/whatever.

how would you go approaching a foreign artist (like from pixiv or etc) about being able to use their art for an rp account? what do you even say you're using it for? do you just go "hello, i would like to use your art on my... blog; i promise all usages will be credited to you" in not quite as many words or something?
