Is there a list of 15 essential icons besides the one posted under resources? I always use it, but I'm wondering if anyone ever made their own alternatives, just out of curiosity.

i feel like i need at least three different "neutral" expressions because it's my most commonly used icon and i hate using the same one over and over again

but then that cuts down on my space for other expressions

so yes i would like other variations of the list too if anyone has one so i can try to compensate

Yeah, this is my problem, too. I usually just try to balance as best as I can but I've never been able to strike gold, really.

I've noticed a lot of characters having several neutral icons. I didn't used to have them but I've since come to appreciate their versatility.

I always try to have an icon where the character has closed eyes. That can be used for 'sleepy', 'shy' or 'indifferent' depending on what kind of overall expression they have.

i kinda icon as i go. like if you're voicetesting and you write a tag and realize none of your icons fit, take a few minutes to go through saved icon posts to find the perfect one. it makes you slow at first but i think it's really handy and practical; i usually end up with a solid set for when i'm seriously playing the character, this way.

I have done this a few times and it seems like a good way to find suitable icons.

some characters need 5 different happy icons, some need zero. it depends on the character.

The list I made was originally just my reference of expressions that I'd probably need. If you know your character doesn't show certain emotions often, then drop those for what you'll need.
