Unfunny wanky stereotypes

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

that might be dependent on where you are and who you're around. i live in a melting pot city and i constantly hear cultural phrases used by people not of the same culture. it just happens when you're around people long enough that a few things get picked up by osmosis and you start utilizing it without even knowing you're doing it. much like fad phrases; right on, groovy, stick it to the man, where's the beef, ill, phat, cowabunga, don't have a cow... outdated now, yeah, but there's always something that's picked up and used to death globally. you could go to Mumbai and say 'don't have a cow' and they'd pick up the reference.

so no, it's not beyond the scope of realism to think that an american high schooler might use a britishism once in a while or that any given american character might also use one. as long as they're not sounding like they just stepped away from tea with the queen mum, it's plausible.
