Bet you're looking for a few explanations, too. For example, bet you're wondering about the fog. You could say it's mostly harmless... most of the time. More often than not, it's barely visible. But when it's thick, when it rolls in like smoke, it brings things. Good, bad. Sometimes both at once. Hallucinations, nightmares, curses, critters. Wishes made, granted, regretted. Some people find their dreams become a terrifying - or wonderful - reality. At least until the mist rolls out again. It's a hard life, but most of us don't complain too much. See, there's nowhere else to go. The once great mage cities, they've all fallen away. Far as we know, we're the only people still living in the whole damn world. This is all we've got left. This is where humanity makes its last stand. ☀ ☀ ☀ Scorched is a panfandom roleplaying game set in and around the steam-punk inspired city of Anatole. Named for the dawn, Anatole represents the hope of humanity: the only place left intact by the ubiquitous fog that has engulfed the world. Of course intact is not untouched. Even there, the mist lives, touching the people. Changing them. Changing you. Because from the second you step into this world, you become one of the Scorched - altered, ageless, given access to abilities, things you may have never believed possible. Things you many not even begin to understand. But you'll come to understand it; it's the only way to survive. Non-Jamjar Ideas

Let's make this a thing. Just general ideas of non-jamjar going on.

One time I had an idea for a game that was based on this idea of people coming to the setting in exchange for a wish. A world altering wish. There'd be some complicated but fun implications to it because this wouldn't be an endgame-result, but something that could happen in game time. They could effectively warp their own world into a brand new AU. Other people could app characters from this AU or play from original canon that still exists parallel to the AU. Imagine if you would, a villain going for this wish and the heroes arriving to this same game in order to use their own wishes to try and cancel out the villain's. Of course, in order to make sure character don't just get their wishes and go home, the NPC granting the wishes would word lawyer all the wishes and they'd often backfire.

Another idea would be based on the "Riverworld" concept. It's a series of novels, but I've seen only the film. But basically in the film, everyone wakes up in this world that is the afterlife, but it's effectively an all new life where people from across history are just sort of stuck together in a world where there's no structure or society save for the one that they build. They are 'trapped' in this world in the sense that they have moved on from their past life and there's nothing to go back to, but the world is entirely open to be explored and developed. I thought the movie had a great concept, but it was kind of lamely executed and focused on some weird stuff that I don't recall. But it would make for a very interesting cross-canon survivor style game. (If I ran this game, I'd probably enforce a variety in canons and implement some kind of character cap for each fandom so the setting feels more natural.)

Are there any games left anywhere that take fandom OCs? I'm talking unimportant person from setting X who has never met the protagonist ever type characters, which is usually what I've seen allowed in the past when they're allowed at all.

I'm wanting to app an OC of mine, but I can't find the PB sites I used to use :/ Anyway, there's two versions of her, but I think I'll app the older first.

Female, 30s to 40s, but fairly young looking. Dark brown/black hair. She's tanned, and I keep imagining her from the Middle East (she's from one of the deserts in my world), and...I keep thinking blue eyes? That's not a deal breaker, though. If nothing else I can try to color change them in PS. If I can get medieval-ish garb, that would be lovely. Both battle and noble wear preferred. She's also quite nice looking.
If it makes a difference, her noble wear is usually red with gold accents? Battle wear is mostly ranger (so bow), I suppose. I can do without perfect colors though, I think.
Lemme know if you need more info? I'll take just PB sites, though, if nothing else.

I draw most of my own icons for my OCs.

I recently drew a new set for one and had a sudden realization like a piano falling on my head that I based her facial features and expressions off of my sister's. All of a sudden I feel awkward and like I shouldn't use them because the icons just look like my sister to me now, which I know is dumb, because chances are, I'm the only one who'll see the icons who would know. =/

i unknowingly made friends with someone who did a wanky thing a long time ago. they were completely open and honest with me about it when i asked for deets, and i gave them a chance anyway. in all the time (years) that i've gotten to know them they've been sorry and made every effort to not repeat their mistakes. the person i've gotten to know is talented, sweet, mature, and has truly reformed. i love rping with them! they haven't done anything wanky since then, to my knowledge. again, this is something that happened years ago, and i've been rp friends with them for years now too.

but they still get grudgewanked on once in a while and it's just sad. i know the best thing to do is ignore it but because i play with them so much i think now i'm starting to get associated with their history? it's so stupid and frustrating. they've never wronged me, or anyone i know.

i guess i'm not asking for advice so much as venting or wondering what makes some people hold onto grudges for such a long time, especially in the rp world. there's some people i don't like, and haven't liked, and never will like, but i don't go out of my way to antagonize or slander them. it's too much effort! i'd rather spend my energy doing something that makes me happy! :(

Deleted a plurk before? You'll see it there again, and anyone you had friended at the time can have access to everything posted on that timeline again. You can still disable the account and it'll treat it as a 'deleted' one, but if you've deleted a plurk before, it's back. Similarly, there was a security loop in which even if you kept a private timeline, if someone you have added deleted their account before you could remove them, they can reactivate it any time to check your stuff - now's the time to remove them and clear up house on your friend list.
