Rundown:
rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.
Rules:
Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-19 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)Because I sure as hell didn't.
Yes, those three are great to learn the ropes - everything from how the site works to how to kinda sorta play - but they won't make you a good RPer. Yes, an above anon said that you can make friends there, who will end up giving you advice... But a) only when you know you will need said advice, and b) only when your friends are the type to actually give crit. Let's face it, most people in DWRP are more likely to pat your butt than to point out your flaws.
More so when they might not see the flaws at all, which occasionally happens in PSLs and the likes: OOCness might seem IC due to different circumstances/an AU/character development/etc.
Never mind that, if you send all the newbies/not-yet-good players to the same place, 'improvement' is hardly guaranteed.
I agree that no one should be forced to 'train' a newbie, but I, for one, would hardly mind giving some advice to a new gamemate - while you would be perfectly free to ignore them until they meet your standards (or forever, that entirely depends on you).

(Anonymous) 2013-04-19 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)You can't make such small rules and expect to have clearly defined lines and not offend people. Either you have a standard of quality or not. There are games out there that have lower quality standards that are good for new people to learn the ropes. Exitvoid has different quality standards that they enforce.
