All the disability chat is reminding me of this super skeevalicious rper I used to know who literally did not play a single character who wasn't disabled. All OCs, all disabled, all the time. And on the one hand she was really super dedicated to researching the various conditions and medical details of like, blindness/cervical spinal damage/hearing loss/etcetc so that was kind of cool and educational, but on the other hand it was . . . kiiiiiind of creepy the extent to which disability and the playing out of its many permutations dominated this person's life.

It doesn't. It really, really doesn't. Mods are going to have their preferences and biases regardless. All it does it make mod bias more difficult to identify. Players sure are being well served by that!

Well, as an anon mod who's about to open a game, I'm going to go ahead and express my opinion on this. Which you are completely entitled to disagree with, and I'm hardly the ultimate authority on All Things RP, disclaimer disclaimer blah blah blah.

I have run into problems before where players feel entitled to special treatment because they know a mod from somewhere before, or where they claim bias because a mod plays more with her friends than other people. But, as an anon mod, I will deal with friends as harshly or nicely as I deal with acquaintances and strangers, and I will not have to face personal consequences as a result.

So players won't have to worry about me nudging things to help my friendships along. They don't have to worry about me having mood swings or bad days. They will hold me accountable as a mod for everything I say or do as a mod, and that's the way it should be.

Separating the roles of player and mod is a relief, frankly, and I think I will be both a better player and a better mod for it.

Yeah, so, that's my point of view. Feel free to profoundly disagree.

honestly i'm pretty shit at reviewing

i'll just go back and skim over the parts that contain my character, slow down and actually reread/play for Super Important Moments that are ~transforming~ or whatever, but those are few/far between

it takes me 20 min tops. often after i'm accepted i'll do it a couple more times for voice but

overall i'm a lazy fucker i guess

I just recently discovered I have an inflation fetish. I think I might even want to RP it but I don't have any characters who would be really... good for it. Most of them are guys too, I'd rather a chick for it, I think.

Like I can imagine them in some strange kink situations but, but I always try to stick with "what is reasonably most IC" for their kinks, and I don't think this... is reasonable for any of them.

No, I totally get it! When you do kink stuff (I do pregnancy), you want to have that realistic emotional investment so it's easier for you to put yourself in the moment. Being IC for it is part of creating the depth to put yourself into it.
