odd question - i'm loving the game and have been here a while now, but i've had basically no luck with people hitting me up on the cr memes/plot with me stuff. this hasn't held me back at all, since i'm happy to tag out and reach out to people, and i've built a lot of long-lasting cr from that!

but i guess i was wondering: has it been other people's experience that people are more hesitant to reach out here?

i've repeatedly reached out to strangers, made plans, written starters, and had them go unanswered. i've also reached out, gotten things going, and decided their quality wasn't up to my standard. ymmv but my best experiences have come from friends and their extended cr that i already know are reliable/quality - the AC is so low that there are a LOT of flakes and it's a sex game with questionable mods so poor writing is a cup that overfloweth

i think it's worth it if you can find those pockets of people having fun and putting in effort

Prospective player here with a few questions.

One, what's the pace like? Is it easy to keep up with events and make AC? If I'm a slower player, will I have a hard time keeping up?

Two, how easy is it to get involved and get CR? Especially if you don't really know anyone and are going to likely be a lone canon warrior.

Three, how much Poke knowledge do you need? I haven't really truly played any of the games since like... High School I think.

So, seeing this game at the top of the most tags per character list on that stats post made me take another look, I've considered this game before but it's good to see it still going so strong.

A few questions from a potential newbie:

1. How welcoming is it to newbs? I know a few people who have been there for years at this point and I don't mind that as long as new players don't get ignored. I was there for a short amount of time as mentioned below but not long enough that I really got anything done so I doubt anyone will remember.

2. Do you find you have an easy time playing out darker/more intense arcs with regards to the redemption aspect? I was here for a very very brief amount of time back around...2014 I think and at that time I struggled a little to get traction with a darker character. It may have just been that the spread of characters at the time leaned towards dark comedy and more lighthearted canons but I also remember a lot of the events being more on the cracky side (which is something I don't mind at all as long as it doesn't make it difficult to play serious arcs).

It's definitely a your mileage may vary sort of game. It has an event every month, with two months concurrent happening in the same location. Activity wise, it's got both fast and slow taggers. AC is check in (with brief description) and mods have been kind in the past about activity. It has a mix of both animated and live action and everyone seems to be happy tagging everyone.

IMO, it's a really fun chill game. You should check it out.

i think the game is stagnating tbh. it's the fate of every sandboxy game, it just took a while to happen to erku. i don't think it's in danger of dying or anything but it's definitely slowed down a lot since the start and i don't see that changing anytime soon.

there's still tagging activity according to the statistics sheet but my guess is less people are tagging outside their friends, casts, and established cr with more threading in permanent catch alls

unrelated, but what do we think about the new augur rewards update? i understand that people locking or deleting their inboxes puts the mods + players in a situation where their squares may be invalidated, but i can't help wondering if this change was partially to push players back onto the comms to bolster activity. it wouldn't be that difficult to provide an archived backup of a thread that took place in an inbox in the event it gets locked or deleted before the player submits their request.
