I've been side-eyeing this game as a possibility once I'm less busy but all the talk I've seen about it lately on my plurk feed seems quite negative and that current players are looking to drop soon. is the game worth trying to get into right now?

The game is half its optimal size and new blood is not interested in apping because the endgame should happen soon-ish. The game was planned to run for a year and while it's no longer the case, it's hard to enable people into something that may end soon.

I would say come and join us and give us a try as I feel like the playerbase itself is fairly open and excited about playing with new people. But I won't lie, it does feel like the game has stagnated considerably over the past couple of months. The events have been less hands on and engaging and mod activity has been slow if not barely there. Of course the mods have been very communicative about how they are struggling as well, but acknowledging it and actively fixing it are two separate things.

It's still a great place if you're looking for a spooky sandbox and I'm personally holding on hoping the next event drop shakes things up a little.
