there's still tagging activity according to the statistics sheet but my guess is less people are tagging outside their friends, casts, and established cr with more threading in permanent catch alls

that makes sense. ig i just worry that the mods will see events getting so few replies and decide no one's interested and it's time to close up shop

i don't really get the permanent catch alls. they feel very anti-game. like, biggest example is i know there's a CR cast in the game but they'd probably be better off just playing in a comm of their own if they aren't going to interact.

It was a trend started in prisma because the game was so huge event level logs would reach captcha in two days and would get so big there'd be loading issues

Linking to your permanent catch-all was the best solution to it, and a lot of people like it on its own merits because it's more organized and easier to kept track of for activity check.

if that's the origin, i can get why in a game like prisma that's always moving and active, but in a game like erku, the comms feel dead and stagnant right now.

is erku not dead? outside of a couple insular casts, there's very little going on at this point. plotless kink bingo only stays interesting for so long.

nah, the network still sees action. people are playing, it's more a matter of where they are putting their threads.

i usually don't mind big insular casts since i typically don't care to tag with them anyway, but i think they are having a suffocating effect on this game.

I used to play in one of those casts and dropped because I couldn't get play with anybody except one person, so even within the casts they're offputting. So much of my characters' important canon CR was there...and refused to interact. That's just an awkward situation to play around.

I have nothing against catch-alls in general but would prefer they be for a 1-2 month period of time, not a permanent catch-all. otherwise it does become too insular, or at least give the impression of insularity. with regular catch-all posts you at least see evidence that the character is still around and potentially available for interactions.

1-2 month catch-alls make sense, imho. up until the recent 4th wall tdm it was the only way we could make starters for tdm prompts. then there's the two events this game throws at us per month, the mingle and the month's main event. so catch-alls are a place where i can throw all of my ideas without worrying about being too late for one of those three.

it's the permanent catch-alls that i don't understand. i think i'd prefer a player make 1-5 closed logs on the log comm in succession than keep everything in the same post they had last year. maybe they won't play with me, and that's fine, but at least i know they're active and still in-game.
