hello anon! excited to see someone interested in our cute little game.

1 pacing: slow game perfect for slow taggers! ac is only ten comments and you can use more than one thread, also inbox stuff. we're a SoL game with wacky shenanigans, so most of the events are for you to decide how much you wanna do with them. we do have some more plot-heavy events every now and then, but those are rare and mods always give you a heads up if something will require heavy tagging. for example, for prom, if you wanted to sign up your character to be one of the five possessed ones, they said in advance that you should be around for it. but the event itself still had other stuff for you. in contrast, now we have another plot going and for part one they said the puzzle-solving didn't have to be threaded, it could be handwaved.

all in all, we're a small, cozy game and the mods always mention they want to keep the general mood as chill. if you want to see more about our events, the comments on the calendar page have the list of them. please notice that "swarms" aren't an actual event (well, most of the time, sometimes they do come with effects), it means that that particular Pokémon will show up everywhere https://indigo-league.dreamwidth.org/10725.html

2 cr: this is hard to explain because it depends a lot on your rping style and the kind of character you will be apping. for the record, we do have LCWs and even OCs that are doing GREAT! we even have OCs in ships with canon characters. that said, VR is a slow and small game, and not everyone always vibes with that. you don't get as many posts on the main comm as other games, and while there are ways to travel around, throwing an open log to gather random cr doesn't always work like other games because characters are all over the map. on the other hand, events always have mingles so that's an easy way to make your character meet a bunch of people at once. the key in this game (and in small games in general at least in my experience) is that you get as much as you put in. i've been popcorning at some amazing drama the last couple of months that spanned many inboxes, and that was all simply character relationships getting on fire, not event-related. what i've noticed (in VR AND in other small games that i've been in in the past) is that people sometimes see their friends plurk about all this fun they're having, app to small games when themselves aren't made for them, then complain they're bored.

so yeah, the beginning may be a bit slow, but if you throw your character around, you can get good shit done. while not obligatory, i do think friending people on plurk and/or discord helps. players are super friendly in my experience and always ready to plot if you reach out to them, they're always open to lend your character items and give them rides as well. we have one IC community that is victory_road (plus one for rockets only but it isn't used much, though I gotta sayrockets can request missions!), so i do reccomend you to look around the comm and think how your character would vibe with the posts you find.

(shut out to the voltron, femblem, witcher casts and the ocs involved in all the drama, you guys are better than soap operas)

3. pokéknowledge: i've seen people come to this game with no knowledge at all and they did fine. so if you played the games some time ago, you're more than fine! the only thing that can get a bit complicated is breeding, which your character may not even do. and if they do, people are always ready to guide you through it.
