question time! what are your favorite game plots you've ever run/participated in?

i came up with the idea for and helped write and run a massive plot in my game where people swapped memories, shared sensory experiences, and were forced to hold hands to avoid the mental link hurting or killing them. watching what everyone did with it was the best mod experience i had.

two people put in an application for the same person. game doesn't accept challengers.

person 1 had the character originally reserved, but it expired. they sent in their application first.
person 2 reserved the character after person 2. they sent in their application second.

soooo, who would rightfully get to app in that character?

i'm running out of foreign snacks, please give me suggestions for my next shopping trip, anons.

they don't have to be 100% foreign, they can be some specialty doritos for all i care. as long as it tastes good, it's not expensive, and i don't have to depend on the black market to find it.

i'm fine with ordering from foreign websites that ship to the us or going to local ethnic grocery stores. it looks like most of the international grocery stores in my area focus on food from asia (mainly china, japan, and korea), mexico, the middle east, and poland.

food preferences: i have no allergies or food sensitivities. i don't like sour or bitter tastes. i'm okay with spicy food but nothing TOO spicy, medium american salsa is hot enough for me to need frequent drinks, lmao. drink suggestions are fine but i'd prefer food, no alcohol/coffee though (i don't hate tea but i've only had it a few times). i'm open to snacks from any country but i definitely have a preference for asian and hispanic/latino foods.

i'm also open to using sites other than amazon, if anons have any good international food site suggestions.

demon-infested jamjar where a bunch of spirits have conspired together and hidden away a pocket of the world so's to feed off of the people they lure into it. these slowly leech away their victims' memories or life force, causing various status effects. characters drawn in discover they can exorcise these demons by working in twewy-esque partnerships; the closer their cr becomes, the more they power up.

demon npcs run certain territories, some of them hate each other and periodically set rewards for characters living in different territories to fight; and you can kill those too and take over their territories. no overarching plot (though there's more backstory to the jamjar that can be unlocked by interacting with certain npcs), just periodic events like the above and leaving characters to kill things and bond.

I didn't when I was a mod, but I think I would now. Before I felt that it made apping more stressful than it needed to be and my game was really small, so it didn't seem necessary, but now that I'm older and busier, I understand more that it's hard to be the one to reserve first when your schedule is at odds with what's going on in a game's schedule and while it's just a hobby, it is one that many of us derive a lot of joy from.

i'm not as well-versed with mandopop, but i like listening to jay chou, crowd lu, mayday, and sodagreen.

Differentiating between number of years spent RPing (or even text-based RPing) and number of years spent RPing on LJ and/or DW might be useful, both in terms of getting a clearer picture of the average length of time people have spent here, and in terms of getting an idea of how likely people might be to jump over here from other platforms if we were interested in recruiting new blood.
