Serious question, fellow anons. Have any of you tried dating through one of those millionaire match sites? How was the experience? Asking because I'm considering trying one, but I do want something a little different than a typical Match or E-Harmony type of dating scene.

cant say anything about the sites, but i'd warn you about dating someone with significantly more wealth/at a much different stage of their life than you-- it's not a BAD idea, but you should be aware there will be a power imbalance that comes from it. don't let your partner walk all over you because they make more money than you.

anons, i have a dilemma.

i'm 27 and i've never cooked. when i was in middle school i tried, but i set the house on fire and never wanted to touch a stovetop since.

but i'm getting older, i'm terrified to use the stovetop again, i really want to learn to make scrambled eggs so i can eat it in the morning before work, or make some to take to work with me!

do any of you have any experience with a situation like this? how'd you overcome it?

eh, you'd be surprised. i don't think dwrp is really the right climate for that though, since rping is basically collab fanfics anyway, but some fandoms have people who will shell out money for good fic.

how do you stop getting pissed off by stupid shit in your fandom?

i can't stop participating in arguments where people are being blatantly sexist, racist, homophobic etc but they never listen and then we both just look like assholes in the end. how do i stop feeling the need to call them out? i just hate seeing such stupidity be allowed to talk in a public space.

anons can you be honest with me? i want to know if i'm the problem here or if it's other people. i'm leaning towards myself since i'm the common denominator but i can't be too sure.

whenever i use sites/apps for finding friends/dates, everyone fucking SUCKS at conversation. i swear most of these fuckers answer with "idk" or "i guess" most of the time.

here are some examples of answers i might get:

me: "how's your day" them: "ok i guess" or "fine."
me: "you said you like watching tv/anime, what kind of shows do you like?" them: "a lot (of popular ones)" or "idk, whatever's on"
me: "i can't wait until the new pokemon games come out, what about you?" them: "that's cool"

i don't drag these convos on forever because it's like pulling teeth. "what shows do you like?" "idk whatever's on" "any certain genres you're into? fantasy, action, romance..." "fantasy i guess" "have you watched ouat?" "yeah" JUST FUCKING TELL ME THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE, HOLY SHIT. i'm socially inept as fuck but at least i don't pull this bs. i've learned from rping that i should try to put hooks in my messages/tags.

i think it's safe to assume these people just aren't interested in talking to me but then why even reply to me? why even swipe right on tinder in the first place?

i'm always the first one to send a message and i make sure to put "open to friendships and relationships" in my profiles so people don't think i'm on the prowl for the booty. and i never message people who aren't looking for friends.

is2g even the most boring rpers contribute more than these people because at least half of their tags aren't "idk" or "ok"

kept entirely to myself. it can be fun to play this up when the both of you are shipping something, but that depends entirely on if the other person also plays along but keeps it entirely to themselves, never acting on it or mentioning it or even hinting at it.

speaking from experience. i've had stalkers/wankers over "hey i have a crush on you WHOOPS it's just the pairing" type bullshit.

Penny Dreadful is a bonkers crossover Victorian lit public domain period drama tv show. it's easily bingeable (three seasons and each season has less than thirteen episodes) and up on netflix. there's vampires, witches, werewolves, all sorts of batshit. all the characters are various shades of fucked up and also various shades of sympathetic. each season has an "Eva Green desperately wants to win an Emmy" episode where she acts her heart out and is both heartwrenching and also terrifying (sometimes they have a Billie Piper or Rory Kinnear also want to win Emmys episodes which are also very good.) Plus, Josh Hartnett's in it and he has amazing hair for the first two seasons.

Anons, how do you politely decline wanting to partake in silly threads without seeming like a no-fun grump? My game usually has serious events, so whenever there's a rare lighthearted thread, everyone pretty much pushes for everyone else to jump in. The things is that I just have no desire to play out network posts where the phone was accidentally left on and is broadcasting embarrassing events, gossipy threads where characters basically wonder who's hooking up with whom, or threads where characters just spout off silly nonsense.

I think it's becoming apparent to my game I don't like these threads and I'm feeling some gentle pressure to "just try it out, it'll be fun!" Just saying it's not my cup of tea doesn't seem to be doing much.

your character is a regular on an anon comm either in their universe or on their game's network.

what kind of poster are they and what kind of wank would they probably get involved in?

for example: one of my characters would wank on literally anyone who says anything negative about their love interest "john doe", no questions asked. there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that my character wouldn't become a greater internet fuckwad if they had the chance to be anonymous. they're good at hiding their crazy from people they aren't extremely close to but it's possible they might out themselves by talking about how "john doe is perfect" and "how can you not love john????" or... threatening people who might be a threat to their relationship with john.
