rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

is it just me or were there a whole bunch of older game threads deleted from game discussions as well? it's been driving me nuts like did I just hallucinate the headers being there??

nope, new mod is a discussion-nazi who decided only open and active games can be ever discussed. we're not allowed to talk about the past, there is only the present.

there wasn't anything valuable being discussed in those threads, anyway. it was all a bunch of useless circlejerking (or in some cases people butthurt over games closing abruptly) which imo the mod has every right to delete.

the time to discuss games is when they're alive and active. you can ~reminisce~ over the past somewhere else.

i really don't understand what newmod is doing or why but i'm not a fan of it. freezing threads makes more sense than deleting them forever if you just don't like the topic.

tbf there was like, 20 different old game threads and it was clogging up the game discussion thread. i'm sure if it was just 1 or 2 it would have been different.

I wouldn't want it every post, but honestly I thought it was fun to see some new content that isn't the same stuff we're constantly rehashing every post. It's fun to reminisce every now and then; that doesn't make it any less relevant a discussion, just different.

The thing is you can still talk about old games outside of the actually-useful headers. Why don't you just do that.

The mod could have posted a comment saying "please don't use Game Discussion thread for dead games" and, if necessary, frozen what was already there.

I wasn't involved so personally I don't care but deleting harmless discussion makes no sense.

i'm pretty sure most sane people know that spamming, offensive or not, is going to get nuked.

FWIW this isn't actually new. Both anoncomms (normally wankgate but I think it's happened with rpanons occasionally) flush out the discussion toplevels they get filled with joke WITH BEEZ!?!? subject headers, even if they technically aren't offensive.

they only delete what's being reported.
