imo, worst case scenario is that you actually meant it and are just trying to reverse the damage that's been done. best case scenario, you just threw something out in the heat of the moment to get back at them. while you may not have meant it, the fact that you're willing to say whatever just to get a jab in is pretty damning in and of itself.

this is rarely an issue for me online because the text barrier means i have to both type out and then send whatever it is i'm saying-- it's hard to thoughtlessly throw something out there and then wish i hadn't.

but i do have a problem with this in real life. it's not an excuse, but i have borderline personality disorder, which means i react with sudden extremes of anger to perceived slights. generally, i'm able to keep it under control and not make anyone else pay for my personal issues, but sometimes i'll slip and say something cutting purely because i'm angry and splitting (look that one up) and i'll have to run damage control.

in my experience, no. you can't ever take back what you've said once you've said it. it's out there, and it's already done whatever damage it's going to do-- the best you can do is own it and apologise and recognise that the other person will react however they feel is appropriate. maybe they'll forgive you, maybe they won't. it's up to them, and all you can do is accept the consequences.

This is more of a technical help rather than an RP help exactly.

I'm using a Tabula Rasa custom theme on one of my journals and while I like the theme, I want it to change to a website theme whenever someone read a post.

Sorry for the grammar in case you don't understand, but I really need to figure this out or else, change into a new theme.

Go to "Account Settings," select the Display tab and uncheck the box next to "Entry Page Default: Your Journal." (You can also scroll down a little and switch "Entry Pages: Shown to You" to "Site Skin" so you don't have to look at anyone else's entry pages in their custom themes either.)

So I need my wisdom teeth removed, anons... but I can't afford it and already am at my credit limit for other health issues. All the stuff I've Google's hasn't really helped so I thought I'd ask here if anyone has dealt with a ton of pain from this and if there's anything they did that helped while waiting? It's probably going to be a year before I can afford it and it comes and goes but it's like the tooth equivalent of a bad migraine. I can't focus at all.

Been there and done that. Check your local grocery store or drug store in the section where they have oral pain relievers. The one I felt worked best was one named Kanka which is more for canker sores, but at actually works well for tooth pain as well and it doesn't taste downright horrible to boot. It will run you about $5 for a bottle of it that can last anywhere between a month or a few months depending on how much you use it. Also make sure to brush your teeth well, you don't need infections on top of this.

You also might want to talk to your dentist. Some dentists that don't normally do it will set up a payment plan for existing patients in a case where it is an emergency. At the very least going in and finding out if you can wait or not is a good idea and if waiting is doable your dentist may also be able to give you a prescription to help with the pain.

Anons who didn't do something the "traditional" way but got ahead in life anyway, what kind of bullshit do you deal with from butthurt babies who did it the "traditional" way and are butthurt as fuck because they're not as successful as you? If this doesn't apply to you, plz share with the class tell us about situations like this you've seen.

Here's a famous example: "Fucking Bill Gates, I paid out the ass for college and I'm not one of the richest people in the world like that asshole who's a fucking drop-out and a thief (lol)!" Son, you aren't responsible for an operating system that revolutionized the 80's, when computer technology as primitive as fuck. There's a huge difference between designing an OS now and designing one 30 years ago. Just because he dropped out doesn't mean you're automatically better for finishing college.

Let me use a "fan work" example too: Darren Criss. He got attention for working on that Harry Potter musical and then eventually got some famous roles like in Glee. I see plenty of more obscure artist types (especially actors) piss and moan because they're TRADITIONAL! and "don't need to make fan content to get popular." They'll whine about how since they're a starving artist in New York/Hollywood who applies for any obscure-ass part they can possibly qualify for while crossing their fingers that some famous dude will notice them and they'll finally get their magnum opus, they work a million times harder than assholes like DC do and THEY deserve fans, not him! PS. If you act in a play based on Romeo and Juliet or the Nutcracker, you are technically selling your soul to content that isn't 100% original content donut steel like that piece of shit Darren.

It's really funny when someone who complains about how "fan art = easy popularity" claims that they're better than those dumbbutt fan artists because they "don't draw for pageviews/notes" they draw because they "love art and letting their creative juices flow"! Motherfucker, why are you bitching about popularity, then? If you supposedly don't need attention, prove it and don't post your shit on the internet.

I spent years making fan works (let's say for Pokemon) and when I made original works, my "Pokemon" fans loved the fuck out of my original work even though it's not about collecting 'em all or cockfighting. And I'll frequently see people who aren't interested in making fan content crymoar because I'm "a fucking hack" and I'm "only popular because I "drew a Skitty fucking a Wailord once, and anybody can do that!" And no, I don't have any college experience, which pisses a lot of art school kiddies off. I'm not saying I'm already Piccaso level but it's not like going to college is the absolute only way to get gud at something.

I might not be as famous as Hussie or Sugar but at least I'm not some whiny misanthropic fuck whining about how "sheeple" are too fucking dumb to appreciate "meaningful" content and flock to pictures of Captain America fucking Iron Man instead. Yeah, that'll make people love your work, complain about how fucking stupid they are. With that kind of behavior, the only "fans" you'll attract are "intellectuals" with the same anti-fanart mindset.

Let's not forget that not many people are going to give a fuck about some nobody on Tumblr posting pictures of birds/skulls/sparkledogs and their OCs, and that's it. Why should I care about your characters when I know nothing about them other than what they look like? I know nothing about your OC's background, their relationships, their motivations, their anything. Make a webcomic or a video game, boom, done. Even if you're not popular enough to sell merchandise, put some ads on your site and set up a Patreon, it's better than sitting on your ass and bitching about sheeple.

how do you feel about players that take a day or two to give a well-written tag vs those that boomerang with mediocre tags?
