the trick is to not care about wankgate or rpa and to do what's best for your actual game and players

entirely, or just from playing? either way good luck, anon, but if you can shadow-promote someone you trust to handle things while you soft-hiatus, it might be a solution. stepping back from playing but still modding is possible, but if you need a clean pause including mod duties, maybe finding someone to temporarily mod for you is an option.

FWIW anon, I understand the exact problem you are describing here. I presume the anons arguing are just not in the kind of game you are describing, but I am and I see this happening and I sympathise.

i feel like this is me. i'll try to do better.

i've caught myself using the same phrase twice in a tag and felt the same way. there's always the edit button. if they already replied it obviously didn't bother them enough to not tag back. everyone has brain farts.

i feel this. i'm thinking about limiting my time on plurk to once a week or so to see if that helps the negativity i've been feeling recently.

i thought i could finally afford to take x big life step with recurring huge monthly expenses, and i can on paper, but immediately lots of things started going wrong (like $700 extra in one month wrong) and now my parents are having to front me rent until things stabilize and it feels so, so bad

i feel like a parasite and i'm so humiliated that i didn't see the worst case scenario coming. i know they're not judging me but i feel bad and i know it's a massive privilege and i'd be shit out of luck if they weren't able to help me and i feel guilty for having that help when i have many friends who don't have that kind of safety net and would have to be in a lot of card debt right now if they were in my shoes

basically it feels like a moral failing to be in this situation and it feels like a second moral failing to have help that i can even receive in this situation

from an anon whos been homeless: dont ever ever beat yourself up for needing help, and especially dont beat yourself up for accepting it. i know it feels like youre a failure and its incredibly demoralizing, but take this chance to take a step back, take a deep breath, and get your ducks in a row. whether that be in the form of looking over all of your expenses and making a few cuts to save costs, taking this time to rest mentally and prepare yourself for what lays ahead, or learning a new hobby or skill to get a side job or even a better job - all that matters is that you keep positive and dont blame yourself for your situation too much or youll get stuck in a spiral thats incredibly hard to get out of.

outside opinion: If you set a minimum, you have set that as a bar. That is what passes AC, which effectively *is* the AC. If you want people to do more, then you have to raise the AC. Asking for someone to read what you mean by a vague phrase is unfair to the player base. If you say the minimum is 30 and I do 30 that's meeting it. If I do 31 then I have done more than the minimum. I have no idea what your expectation is because 'don't do just the minimum' is nonquantitative. Your expectations need to be easy to understand.

from one mod to another: if you do, in fact, have rules about this then enforce them instead of sitting around and silently resenting your players for not reading your mind about things you're refusing to communicate to them.

reading old threads on a character i haven't played in a while to help get my voice back

It's been a few years since I've been in a game or even any active PSLs, just the occasional poking at meme stuff. Even that has been pretty minimal.

A lot of what had been preventing me from playing is starting to improve and I can finally devote at least a little time each day to RPing and/or connecting with RP buddies about stuff.

I'm making progress, but it's so much slower than I expected that it looks and feels like procrastination.

cut down on plurking anything that makes you feel bad if it gets no replies, and make more meaningful comments on your friends plurks

anyone out there playing from this and interested in threading together? i picked it up a while ago when it was on sale but only recently got around to playing it!
