New vegetarian anon here. I used to cook the same stuff over and over without much fantasy, but since I cut meat and most cheese from my diet I found myself experimenting in the kitchen more and more not to stick with tofu or seitan all the time for my protein intake.

I'm genuinely my daily meal prep time now and not because vegetarian = better, just because I have so much variety and I'm trying so many new recipes. I'm attempting homemade hummus today, I can't wait to try it for dinner!

1 revisiting some canons I hadn't even thought about in like 20+ years. On the one hand they're full of "Oh boy that did not age well!" but I'm also enjoying the trip down memory lane for its own reasons.
2 Finally tried a donut place near where I live that always has lines out the door and around the block... mildly upset to report that goddamn it is worth all the hype. But hey since I'm local I don't have to worry about parking and can just walk there in under 10 minutes.

They're filled donuts and the dough is SOOOO soft and chewy! They have four flavors at a time that rotate out (this is the last week to get the current flavors) and they only make a certain amount a day. When they're out, they're out - the place is still open but they only have coffee and whatever other snack foods are left after that. Today I had the tiramisu and strawberry cream flavors. The tiramisu did not skimp on the espresso and the strawberry cream is so strawberry. They've also got a light flaking of sugar on the outside.

omg that sounds heavenly, my mouth is positively watering rn! i never knew strawberry cream filled donuts were a thing before now and it is henceforth my mission to try one myself someday. it’s awesome you live so close to a place like that, i hope you get to treat yourself to their goodies lots more going forward!

i usually hate celebrity gossip but the current drama in my country is that famous girl 1 discovered famous guy was cheating on her with famous girl 2 because

their phones are connected to the washing machine and she got a notif that he was washing clothes at fucking 3am

I'm learning how to crochet and knit. I thought it'd be really difficult but it's been really fun, even if it is just doing straight rows right now! Drop me any recs of favorite patterns/books/vids cause I am dedicated to practicing now.

my simple modern galaxy tumbler! it keeps my zipfizzes chilled for an eternity and hot drinks blaze like the lake of fire. it comes with the straw-lid combo and a sippy lid. it looks pretty great with the sticker choice too, but unfortunately the artist closed their etsy
